Keanu Reeves announced is teaming with writer Matt Kindt and artist Ron Garney to create a new comic series titled BRZRKR. The series recently launched on Kickstarter and has blown past its goal, closing in on $350,000 in less than 24 hours.

At the time of this writing, the Kickstarter campaign has raised $341,318 in funds. The campaign is seeking $50,000 in total to fund three graphic novels.

The story follows a man known only as Berserker, who is cursed with immortality. Berserker sells his services to the U.S government in order to find out the truth about his existence and how to end it. The series is being published by BOOM! Studios.

"I have loved comics since I was a young kid and they have been a significant influence on me artistically," Reeves said in a previous statement. "To have the chance to create BRZRKR and collaborate with legends in the industry like writer Matt Kindt, artist Alessandro Vitti, color artist Bill Crabtree, letterer Clem Robins, and conceptual/cover artist Rafael Grampá -- along with the great folks at BOOM! Studios -- is a dream come true." While Vitti was slated to be the artist for BRZRKR, he has since been replaced by Garney.

Tiers for the Kickstarter campaign include several editions of the graphic novel, including softcover and hardcover editions. There will also be several box sets, including "Blood Red" and "Gunmetal" editions. Stretch goals include digital art and an exclusive print, with more unlocked as the campaign continues.

The Kickstarter campaign for BRZRKR will last through Oct. 1. The softcover graphic novels will go on sale starting in September 2021. Print copies of BRZRKR #1 will be sold at comic shops starting in October.
