Based on an upcoming illustrated young adult book by Frank Miller and former The Cape showrunner Tom Wheeler, Cursed is a new take on the legend of King Arthur. This adaption of the tale will focus on Nimue, the young woman who is fated to become the seemingly all-powerful Lady of the Lake. An important piece of the overall Arthurian mythology, the Lady of the Lake and her story are rarely explored by most versions of the tale.

The premise sees the young Nimue team up with a mercenary named Arthur and agree to help him on his quest to find the wizard Merlin and an ancient, but powerful, sword. The two will have to find the strength to lead a rebellion against the forces of the cruel King Uther, including his “Red Paladins.”

Cursed is set to be released in book stores in fall of 2019, with the Netflix series premiering sometime in 2019 as well.
