Katee Sackhoff, who played Starbuck on Syfy's Battlestar Galactica, will be blasting off into space again as the lead of Another Life.

Netflix has announced that they are giving the drama series from Alias Grace producer Halfire Entertainment a 10-episode order. Another Life was created by Aaron Martin (Slasher, Saving Hope, Degrassi: The Next Generation), who will also serve as the showrunner.

According to Deadline, the series follows the story of astronaut Niko Breckinridge (Sackhoff) who is intent on finding alien intelligence. She is the leader of a crew on a mission to explore the origins of an alien artifact. In the course of their explorations, they wind up facing various dangers and may not be able to return home again.

Sackhoff previously played Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on the Syfy's Battlestar Galactica. This is Sackhoff's second Netflix production, as she has just recently finished six seasons of playing the lead in the drama Longmire, which Netflix picked up after it was unexpectedly canceled by A&E. The show then ran for three additional seasons on Netflix.
