"Karen" has become a mascot of sorts for the troubled year of 2020, and "Wear a mask" has become its slogan. Now, Halloween revelers can become Karen, with a very different kind of mask -- if they can find one.

Artist Jason Adcock has crafted a painted latex mask bearing the caricature of a white, angry middle-aged woman, replete with the signature blonde Karen hairstyle. The face is a grotesque exaggeration of a stereotypical "Karen," a deprecatory name commonly given to an unreasonably demanding woman considered to be privileged or entitled.

"2020 is the year of the KAREN!" Adcock posted on his Instagram account. "Scare all ur friends with ur big hair and narrow mind."

“I was starting on this year’s Halloween projects and kept seeing 'Karens' pop up in my news feed," Adcock told Business Insider.

"Damn, this is the real monster of 2020," he said.

Adcock first posted the mask design on Facebook, which led to a large number of requests from interested buyers. Adcock was forced to suspend orders to catch up with the demand.

The artist also says he's received no shortage of irate comments, from complainants ironically asking to speak to his manager.

Adcock has also made an even more disturbing, pustule-infested "KAREN-19" variant of the mask. "She thought she was slick calling you all sheep and look what happened," Adcock joked on another Instagram post.

The artist maintains he's not trying to offend anyone. "Just take it for what it is," he said, "A funny Halloween mask."

"I’m not here to ruin anybody’s day. I’m just trying to make people laugh."
