Karen Gillan recently shared her excitement to be working with director James Gunn for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 while offering high praise for the film's script.

When asked if she knew when Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 is expected to begin filming, Gillan told The Hollywood Reporter, "I don’t know exactly. I think it’ll be in the next couple of years, but I’ve read Vol. 3 and I think it’s the best of the trilogy."

"I know that we’re all really excited to have James Gunn back as our fearless leader," she continued. "So we’re all just really looking forward to getting back together."

Karen Gillan starred as Nebula in both Guardians of the Galaxy films. She also appeared as the character in Avengers: Infinity War and Avengers: Endgame. Gillan plays the role of Ruby Roundhouse in Jumanji: The Next Level, which is currently in theaters.

Guardians of the Galaxy 3 will likely show the return of Gillan and the rest of the Guardians, though an official cast list has not been announced. After the events of Endgame, some fans are hoping Chris Hemsworth's Thor will appear in the film as well.

Written and directed by James Gunn, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 does not currently have a release date. The film is reportedly scheduled to begin production in February 2021.
