This month, DC Comics launches the digital-first series "Adventures of Supergirl." Written by Sterling Gates and illustrated by a number of artists, the bi-weekly series tells tales set in the universe of the CBS drama.

Today, DC has revealed the cover for the series' first arc via The Hollywood Reporter. Illustrated by Cat Staggs, the art depicts a joyful Kara Zor-El, flying amongst the skyscrapers of National City.

"Fans of the show can expect to see all their favorite Supergirl characters play a role in our massively action-packed thirteen-part story exploring the various facets of Supergirl's life," promises Gates. "My editors have assembled a wildly talented group of artists -- including Bengal, Jonboy Meyers, Emanuela Lupacchino, Emma Viecelli, and the brilliant cover artist, Cat Staggs -- and our goal is to knock your super-socks off every two weeks across 2016."

According to the initial series announcement, while the comic won't tie-in directly with the CBS show, it will be set in that universe with Supergirl working alongside the DEO to combat alien threats while maintaining a civilian identity as Kara Danvers at CatCo. Villains like Rampage, Vril Dox and Psi will appear as the story unfolds.

"Adventures of Supergirl" debuts Jan. 25.
