Percy Jackson series author Rick Riordan's The Kane Chronicles, will be receiving a film adaptation courtesy of Netflix.

Riordan made the announcement on his official website, as well as his Twitter and Instagram profiles. "More news soon," he wrote. His website also noted more information would be revealed during the virtual book tour for his latest novel, Tower of Nero.

The Kane Chronicles focuses on Carter and Sadie Kane, siblings who learn they're powerful magicians meant to save the world. During the course of their adventures, Carter and Sadie encounter various Egyptian deities, including the god of chaos Set. Their series also took place in the same universe as Percy Jackson.

Riordan is also developing a Percy Jackson television series for Disney+ after a #AdaptPercyJacksonForDisney campaign went viral on Twitter; Riordan noted that he struck the new deal with Netflix at the same time he did Percy Jackson.

The first two Percy Jackson novels, The Lightning Thief and Sea of Monsters, were adapted as films by 20th Century Fox and featured Logan Lerman in the title role. However, Riordan has never minced his words regarding his disdain for those adaptations.
