The Naruto world is home to some of shonen's mos famed and memorable characters, from Naruto Uzumaki himself to his mentor, Kakashi Hatake, and his best teacher, Jiraiya the Toad Sage. This series also espouses many shonen values, including the virtues of friendship, loyalty and trust, and indeed, Naruto has a huge circle of friends.
Kakashi's social circle is much smaller, though he is friends with Might Guy, who is his one-sided rival. Kakashi has an eccentric personality, to say the least, but he would find a few potential friends out there in the broader world of anime. 10 Captain Shunsui Kyoraku Is Like Kakashi Himself (Bleach)
Two Bleach characters would make good friends for Kakashi Hatake, and one of them is Captain Shunsui Kyoraku, formerly the command of squad 1, now the leader of squad 1. Like Kakashi, he is outwardly goofy and frivolous, but deep down, he is quite serious and mature, and powerful, too.
Shunsui has been serving as a Soul Reaper since the early days, and he is a loyal and capable leader when the fighting starts. He and Kakashi could share a drink together, and reminisce on some of their favorite students and subordinates.
9 Kisuke Urahara Is Like Kakashi, Too (Bleach)
Kisuke Urahara the scientist is the other Bleach character who would get along great with Kakashi, and the two men are remarkably similar. Kisuke was introduced early on as an eccentric mentor and support character, and he is far stronger and more experienced than his behavior would suggest.
Kisuke is easygoing and funny for the most part, but he will get deadly serious if fighting starts, or if there's a plot afoot. Kakashi would recognize him as an equal and peer if they fought together, and they'd share a drink or two on a lazy afternoon. They could offer a toast to their favorite students.
8 All Might Could Be Kakashi's Pal (My Hero Academia)
Kakashi's friendship with Might Guy demonstrates that he has patience for energetic and competitive people, and he would thus get along just fine with the great All Might, too. All Might is charismatic and cheerful as the symbol of peace, but of course, he has his serious side, too.
Kakashi would definitely respect All Might's strength and balanced personality, and identify with him on a few levels as powerful shonen heroes who protect their students. All Might would see Kakashi as a true hero in return, and gladly associate with him.
7 Rimuru Tempest Would Make A Good Impression On Kakashi (That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime)
Rimuru the slime has many powers and magical traits, but he would rather form alliances with other groups and kingdoms and unite everyone in a land of peace and tolerance, and Kakashi can appreciate that. Rimuru will still fight if he must, though, and he'll do anything for his allies, even become a True Demon Lord.
Kakashi would see Rimuru as the Hokage of the Jura Federation, and admire the slime's agreeable and confident personality. Rimuru would also see Kakashi as a friend, and mentally lump him together with Benimaru and Souei. He could always use another upstanding associate.
6 Captain Akitaru Obi & Kakashi Would Hit It Off As Friends (Fire Force)
As opposed to most shinobi or Soul Reapers, captain Akitaru Obi has no supernatural gifts or abilities; in particular, he has no ignition ability to match those of his subordinates. But that doesn't hold him back much. Akitaru Obi uses physical brawn and a wide variety of equipment to fight his foes instead.
Kakashi would be impressed if he saw Akitaru's courage and ingenuity at work on the battlefield, and the two of them would identify with each other's heroic spirit and leadership skills. They can share a drink in the Tokyo Empire's many bars if there are no Infernals to fight.
5 Kakashi Would Get A Good Impression Of Hakoda (Avatar: The Last Airbender)
Hakoda of the Southern Water Tribe may not be a ninja or even a bender, but he would still impress Kakashi as a leader of men and as a person. Hakoda single-handedly keeps the Tribe safe from the Fire Nation and regularly raids the Fire Nation's navy, despite being massively outnumbered and outgunned.
Hakoda is like a seasoned jonin in Kakashi's eyes, and he is loyal to his fellows and family but is still willing to make—and act upon—hard decisions in battle. Kakashi can respect that, and wouldn't mind joining Hakoda on a raid.
4 Joichiro Yukihira Is An Elite Chef But Is Also Down To Earth (Food Wars!)
Kakashi would see a bit of himself in Joichiro Yukihira, one of the greatest chefs in all of anime, and Soma Yukihira's single father. Joichiro is wildly talented and experienced as a chef, but he rarely boasts or acts haughtily. Instead, he keeps pushing himself to find the next adventure, and he is also pushing his son along as a budding chef.
That's similar to how Kakashi pushed his three genin charges to get stronger, and it also helps that Joichiro and Kakashi have roughly similar personalities. They appear fun and easygoing, but they can turn serious and ferocious if the people they care about are in danger.
3 Kakashi Would Be Work Friends With Kento Nanami (Jujutsu Kaisen)
Many anime fans draw clear parallels between Kakashi and the goofy powerhouse Satoru Gojo, but it's unlikely that Kakashi would be BFFs with his sorcerer counterpart. Then again, he might be work buds with another sorcerer, Kento Nanami.
Nanami is a bit cynical and cold, but he means well, and he's an expert professional in the field. Kakashi would get along with him just fine, and relate to his dark and serious side. Nanami would recognize Kakashi as someone he can respect, and even open up to.
2 Thors Is A Real Hero (Vinland Saga)
Thors is no longer actively serving as a warrior, but he still remembers what it's like to fight on a blood-soaked medieval battlefield and face death. Thors grew weary of war among the Jomsvikings, and ran off with his new bride, Helga, Floki's daughter. He settled on Iceland's coast to begin a more peaceful life.
Kakashi would respect Thors' decision, especially since Viking battles will never bring peace or happiness to anyone. Thors will fight to the death to pacify his enemies and protect his allies and family like a true Leaf shinobi would, and he also has a wise and gentle perspective on the world.
1 Kakashi Would Gladly Associate With Makarov Dreyar (Fairy Tail)
Makarov Dreyar leads the Fairy Tail guild as a grandfatherly figure, and he commands this guild with experience, benevolence, and immense physical strength, not to mention strength of spirit. Like Thors, he would gladly give his life to protect the lives of those near and dear to him.
This appeals to the lesson Obito taught Kakashi about those who abandon their comrades being lower than trash, and he is also a wise and cunning leader worthy of becoming Hokage. Kakashi would definitely keep Makarov on his radar.
