Kaiju No. 8, Shonen Jump's latest hit series, celebrated a sales milestone with the release of a breathtaking illustration.

The manga series recently surpassed 3 million copies printed and sold, according to Crunchyroll. Nakaji Seijirou, the deputy editor for Shonen Jump+, revealed the accomplishment in a tweet, noting that the sales figure included both physical and digital sales for the series' first three volumes. Seijirou's tweet also featured an illustration by series creator Naoya Matsumoto, which shows the prodigy kaiju slayer Kikoru wielding her battle-ax in an empty city.

Matsumoto and Seijirou thanked fans for their support of the new series and revealed more exciting news: while Volume 3 just came out on June 4, Kaiju No. 8's fourth volume has been scheduled for release on Sept. 3.

Kaiju No. 8 debuted on Shonen Jump+ in July 2020, quickly joining Spy X Family as one of the online magazine's most popular manga series. The series received over 30 million views in its first month, and its fanbase has only grown since then.

The Shonen Jump series takes place in a version of Japan that is terrorized by giant monsters known as kaiju. Kafka Hibino always dreamed of defending his home by joining the kaiju-hunting Japanese Defense Force, but he has repeatedly failed the entrance exam. His life is completely changed after he accidentally swallows a small kaiju, granting him the ability to transform into a kaiju himself. Kafka decides to use this new ability to protect Japan and live out his dream of fighting alongside the Defense Force.
