When Justice League's Deathstroke actor Joe Manganiello posted photos from the set of the film along with the hashtag #releasethesnydercut, most understood it as him joining the call for the Snyder Cut to be released by Warner Bros. However, Manganiello says that this is not the case.

Speaking to Entertainment Weekly, Manganiello spoke about Zack Snyder's unreleased cut of the film. He said that he only posted the photos because he wanted the world to see them. “Because of the cancellation of Batman and the various other projects that my character was going to be in, I never got to release them,” he said.

Manganiello also stressed how tired he is tired of discussing the Snyder Cut, and emphasized that he only posted the photos to get them out to the public.

“I honestly wanted to stop talking about it. I don’t really like talking about things that didn’t happen,” said Manganiello. “I have a ton of photos from the set photographer that were never going to be released that were sitting on my computer. One day I thought, if I don’t put them out now they’re never going to come out. I might as well get them out to the public.”

The Snyder Cut has received a significant amount of media attention over the last few weeks. This includes support by members of the film's cast, as well as Snyder himself, telling fans to not give up hope. Snyder also released an image of several film reel shipping containers labeled "Z.S. JL Directors Cut."
