On social media platform Vero, a fan asked Snyder about a specific moment featured in the Justice League trailer. The scene in question involved an exchange between two New Gods, where Steppenwolf explained that Earth was ripe for the picking. The fan asked Snyder about the two voices and wondered if the other belonged to Darkseid.

"It's Steppenwolf reporting to Desaad," Snyder answered, confirming that Darkseid's villainous adviser and expert torturer was at one time set to appear in Justice League.
