Both the Justice League and the X-Men are two of the most powerful teams in DC and Marvel Comics respectively. In the years that the teams have been active, all sorts of relationships have been made and broken, forever bonds have been tied, but heroism has remained the central focus for the both of them.

11 Brains: Justice League

Justice League of America

Though the X-Men still have some incredibly intelligent members on their team, the Justice League does have an advantage in this field. Between characters like Batman, Cyborg, and Mr. Terrific, alone, the team almost always has at least two incredibly smart characters on their roster.

That’s not to say that none of the X-Men are intelligent. In fact, Beast’s own mind likely rivals that of all four DC characters mentioned, but the Justice League generally has more intelligence-based characters than the X-Men. While there are still plenty of super-smart mutants on Marvel’s superteam, the Justice League does have an advantage due to consistency.

10 Brawn: X-Men

Even with characters like Superman and Wonder Woman on their side, the Justice League would have an incredibly difficult time measuring up to the likes of the X-Men in terms of raw power. Thanks to the vast array of abilities and their incredible numbers, the X-Men are a team of super-powered individuals first and foremost.

On the other hand, the Justice League has several members with no superhuman abilities. While these particular members still hold value, it is hard to see some of them holding their own against some of the powerhouses on the X-Men. Though it does depend on the lineup of each team, the X-Men are far more likely to pack a bigger punch than the Justice League.

9 Enemy Power Level: Justice League

However powerful the X-Men may be, the Justice League tends to take on some far more powerful threats. Of course, the X-Men have defeated a number of powerful villains over the years, but they also tend to fight against some very real issues beyond the comic book world alone.

While the X-Men may pack the more powerful punch, the League has managed to take down foes like Darkseid, Anti-Monitor and more. Though the X-Men have still faced off against foes like Apocalypse and Magneto and won, few villains are more ruthless and powerful than Darkseid, giving the Justice League a slight advantage in this regard.

8 Morality: X-Men

Though the X-Men generally don’t do anything too dark, certain X related characters are definitely willing to cross some lines. Likewise, given the history of some characters and the nature of their abilities, it only makes sense that the X-Men would be rougher than the Justice League.

Granted, the League has still gone through its darker moments, but they tend to stay on the righteous path, typically only deviating in an Elseworlds story or minorly for plot purposes. Despite the fact that both teams fight for what’s right as best they can, the X-Men are much more willing to make some permanent decisions than the League.

7 Base Of Operations: Tie

With a lot of members on both teams, both the X-Men and the Justice League would need a base that allows them to house a lot of people, provide necessary equipment, and alert them of any dangers. Thankfully, both teams have some quality bases that allow them to do just that.

Whether it’s the Justice League Watchtower or the Hall of Justice, the Justice League can be ready to tackle a major threat at a moment's notice. Furthermore, while the X-Men have had a number of bases over the years, Xavier’s School for Gifted Youngsters is full of all sorts of advanced tech specifically designed to help mutants thrive as a race. Since both bases are effective at what they do and are under attack an equal amount of time, there really isn’t a clear winner, resulting in a tie.

6 Allies: X-Men

Unfortunately for the Justice League, they are already the top superteam within the DC universe, meaning that their backup really only assists them in numbers, rather than firepower. With the X-Men, though the two teams may often have their differences, The Avengers can almost always be called upon to assist the mutant team.

While the Justice League may be able to beat the Avengers, they would definitely have a hard time facing off against both the X-Men and the Avengers together. Even if they increased their roster, the DC team would likely be unable to keep pace with the power of the Marvel teams, making the X-Men the winner of this category.

5 Size: X-Men

While the Justice League has seen a lot of people join and leave the team over the years, their roster is nowhere near as vast as that of the X-Men. Almost every mutant in the Marvel universe has been a member of the X-Men at some point and almost all of them continue to fight for the survival of their species.

In order to match Marvel’s team in terms of size, the Justice League would have to call upon every member past and present in order to hope to have strength in numbers and even then would still have a difficult time in terms of power. Thanks to their constantly rotating cast, it seems a lot more likely for the X-Men to quickly amass an army than the Justice League.

4 Backing: Justice League

One major advantage that the Justice League has is the backing and support from others within the DC universe. As the definitive superteam of their universe, the League is almost always welcomed by the people they save and has even received backing from the government.

The X-Men, however, are not so fortunate. Half the time, it seems as though they are fighting to walk down the street in public without facing some form of persecution. Furthermore, they have a tendency to do almost everything for themselves, making it astounding that they have come so far. However wrong it may be, it is still an advantage that the Justice League has that the X-Men do not.

3 Technology: Tie

X-Men Prime Feature

Thanks to the brilliance and abilities of both teams, each of them has access to some of the most high tech equipment imaginable. Be it a combination of science and magic, or something that bends the laws of physics, both teams are pretty evenly matched when it comes to their technology.

Of course, some items and artifacts are going to be more powerful than others, but there’s no denying the impressive nature of the tech on both sides. With no way to truly judge the teams in this manner, they end in a draw once again.

2 Experience: Tie

Having debuted only 2 years before the X-Men, the Justice League has a bit more experience than Marvel’s mutants. However, in the years since, both teams have gone on all sorts of similar adventures and escapades that put them on fairly equal ground.

Both teams have traveled to other planets, alternate dimensions, and fought almost every type of threat imaginable. Furthermore, just because the Justice League has been doing it 2 years longer, doesn’t mean that both teams haven’t had their share of mistakes and victories, making the teams pretty even in this regard.

1 Winner: X-Men

While the Justice League would definitely put up a good fight, the X-Men are the more likely victors between the two teams. Their strength in numbers and their abilities give them an advantage that the League just wouldn’t be able to measure up to.

Depending on the scenario, things could easily turn out differently. Given just how much the X-Men have accomplished over the years though, a fight between these two teams would definitely send a message to the Justice League unlike any they’ve ever seen before.
