10 Amazo Can Manifest All The Powers Of The Justice League

The Amazo android from DC Comics taunts its targets.

Amazo was tailor-made to defeat the Justice League by Professor Ivo. Amazo tops the charts of DC's greatest robots. Ivo created the robot to mimic the powers of any metahuman it faced, and throwing it at the Justice League first made it as dangerous as it can be. Future Amazos came preloaded with the Justice League's powers, making them amazingly powerful.

Amazo units are mind-numbingly dangerous. They aren't exactly the smartest androids out there, but their sheer power and toughness puts them out of everyone else's league. The Justice League has been battling Amazos for years and have beating them down to a science.

9 The Key Has Tested The League But They Know How To Beat Him

JLA The Key holding the Justice League on a key ring in DC Comics

The Key might not seem like much of a villain compared to the might of many DC teams, but he's a greater threat than he seems. The Key is all about mentally ensnaring his foes in order to use their mental energies to unlock the doors of his mind. He's gotten the Justice League several times in these traps, but they've always managed to break out and beat him.

Other DC teams are tough, but they don't have the skill and power of the League. The League is the most well-balanced team around, which allows them to deal with threats that other teams couldn't handle. The Key is a foe that can't be beaten into submission.

7 T.O. Morrow Is More Formidable Than Most Imagine

T.O. Morrow leaning back in a chair in DC comics

T.O. Morrow is the weakest Justice League villain, but that doesn't mean he isn't dangerous. Morrow is the greatest roboticist on Earth, his designs and the personalities he creates for his robots surpassing even those of Will Magnus. He may just be a normal human, but his robotic creations have always been a formidable and presented a unique challenge to the League.

Morrow's robots have a tendency to evolve past their parameters when exposed to the Justice League. There's just something about the League that makes these robotic beings want to be better. This is why only the League can beat him; any other team wouldn't be able to charm his robots like the Justice League does.

6 Prometheus Has Made Himself Into A League-Beating Threat

DC has many legacies of evil and the Justice League has often been enmeshed in them. Prometheus watched his parents killed by cops as a child and built himself into a Justice League-destroying machine. He's attacked the team several times, and while he's lost every time, only the League has the power and skill to stop him.

For years, a lesser Prometheus ran around and lost to many heroes, but the real deal is as deadly as they come. He's basically the evil Batman, and other hero teams just couldn't handle him. He's an intelligent and formidable foe with a variety of martial skills.

5 The Crime Syndicate Is The Evil Justice League

An image of comic art depicting New 52 crime syndicate

The Crime Syndicate has been an influential team in comic history. The first evil multiversal duplicate team, the Crime Syndicate are the Justice League of Earth-3. Each member and their power is equivalent to the Justice League, making them more than a match for any other team. This puts them squarely in Justice League-only territory.

The only exception to that was Forever Evil, when Luthor brought together a team to take down the Syndicate. The irony is that the team was basically still the Justice League, just using enemies based on each member. So, in the most technical sense, only the Justice League can beat them.

4 Despero's Physical And Mental Might Make Him Too Much For Anyone But The League

DC Comics' Despero battles the Justice League

Despero is an iconic Justice League villain. The alien conqueror first challenged the team as a less physically imposing, but no less dangerous, telepathic titan who would eventually grow into the powerhouse form he inhabits now. Despero has the strength to beat on Superman and his telepathic might is only challenged by Martian Manhunter.

With Despero, it's a matter of power levels. Other DC teams are powerful, but none of them have members who are as strong as Superman and have the telepathic power of Martian Manhunter to protect them from Despero's mental onslaught.

3 Mageddon Forced The Justice League To Think Outside The Box

The universal living weapon Mageddon from DC Comics.

Mageddon was created by the gods of the Third World for use in their cosmic wars. It survived the cataclysmic end of the old gods, burrowing into the Underverse. Mageddon returned and made its way to Earth, using its powers to stoke hatred and rage wherever it went. The Justice League's mightiest couldn't stand up to its powers, nor could any of the heroes of Earth.

That's when the League did what they do best. Working together, they modified the Purple Ray on Themyscira to give everyone on Earth powers. 2 The Legion Of Doom Is Too Overpowered For Any Other Team

DC Comics' Lex Luthor leads the Legion of Doom

The Justice League faces perilous threats, with the Legion of Doom challenging them in new and frightening ways. The Legion is made up of a veritable army of the most powerful villains on Earth, each one a match for the greatest heroes on Earth. The Legion of Doom basically outnumbers every hero team out there and even the Justice League are sorely pressed against them.

If the Justice League have a problem beating a team, then no other team even stands a chance against them. The Legion has so many formidable members that they can tear through any lesser team rather easily.

1 Starro The Conqueror Takes Brains And Brawn To Beat

DC Starro The Conqueror

The Justice League's coolest villains are each quite unique, with Starro the Conqueror taking the cake. The massive alien starfish kaiju uses smaller versions of itself to take control of the inhabitants of planets it targets, allowing it to live up to its name. It also fires energy blasts from the tips of its arms. Starro is a very powerful foe and most teams just can't stand up to it.

Starro isn't the type of foe that can be punched into submission. The League beats Starro by using everything it has. Other teams are good, but they don't have the right mix of power, skill, and inventiveness of the League.
