The Justice League has almost always been composed of DC's greatest and most popular superheroes, many of which have their own comics. The original Teen Titans team debuted and was seen by many as a younger version of the League, never quite able to get from out of the shadow of major heroes like Superman, Batman, and Wonder Woman.

The fate of the Titans was altered in James Robinson, Mark Bagley, Brett Booth, Pow Rodrix and Daniel Sampere's run on Justice League of America from 2010 to 2011, which was the last run on the title before Flashpoint rebooted the entire DC Universe. With their mentors all caught up in various storylines, the Titans and their friends briefly filled the ranks of the premiere DC superhero team. Here's how the last Justice League team before the New 52 reboot became graduation day for many of the younger heroes who made up the Titans.

Justice League: Cry for Justice

Cry For Justice

The DC Universe and the Justice League, in particular, would be rocked by the events of the controversial storyline Cry for Justice. This led to huge changes in the Titans and Justice League franchises, but it wasn't the only reason for the JLA's incredibly different roster once Robinson, the writer of the story, took over the main Justice League title.

Batman was still on his way back to the present following Final Crisis and Return of Bruce Wayne. This saw Nightwing take up the mantle of Batman, fighting alongside Bruce's son Damian. Superman had been relegated to a prolonged trip across America in "Grounded," removing him from much of the universe's action. Likewise, Wonder Woman had been temporarily rebooted in the "Odyssey" arc, which saw her taking on a new costume and forgetting her past. Other heroes such as The Flash were also dealing with their own problems in their own titles. With so many heavy-hitters out of commission in some way, it fell to their proteges and a few of that generation's allies to fill the void.

Titans Take Over the Justice League

Pre-Flashpoint Justice League 1

The final Pre-Flashpoint Justice League had Dick Grayson in the role of Batman, while Wonder Woman's spot was filled by Donna Troy. They were also joined by fellow Titans Cyborg and Jesse Quick, with the latter taking the speedster role of the Flash. Supergirl, who had once been a member of an obscure Titans team, filled Superman's spot alongside Mon-El. Likewise, Green Lantern was replaced by Alan Scott's Jade, and though she wasn't a Titan, she was a member of Dick Grayson's Outsiders, an evolutionary offshoot of the Titans.

The team fought classic Justice League foes such as Eclipso and the Crime Syndicate, and it's the latter group of villains that really tested their mettle. This incarnation of the Crime Syndicate were tailor made to fight these young heroes. For instance, the Johnny Quick that the team fought apparently had the same face as Jesse Quick's Golden Age father. This made the battle much more personal for the team, as well as cemented them as the Justice League with their eventual victory.

The team said farewell in the series' final issue before Flashpoint and was swept away in the hype of the rebooting event. Though this iteration of the team has been mostly forgotten, it did foreshadow some elements of the then-upcoming reboot, such as Cyborg being a member of the Justice League. With Infinite Frontier pushing the idea of legacy more than ever, however, a League resembling this one could happen once again.
