WARNING: The following contains spoilers for The Flash #768 by Jeremy Adams, Brandon Peterson, Marco Santucci, David Lafuente, Mike Atiyeh, Arif Prianto, Luis Guerrero & Steve Wands, on sale now.

Wally West has had a rough couple of years within the DC Universe, being restored to a world that had largely moved on without him. This in turn led to the events of Heroes in Crisis, when an afflicted Wally lost control of his powers and cost the lives of 10 heroes at Sanctuary, which was meant as a place of healing for heroes. It turns out that Green Arrow is still very conscious of those actions, and he is still furious about it.

In The Flash #768, Green Arrow just revealed to the Justice League that he hasn't forgiven Wally West for the death of Roy Harper during the events of Heroes in Crisis, and it could have a serious impact on how two groups of heroes in the DC Universe operate.

The Flash Wally West Justice League

With the multiverse now opened up to the greater Omniverse, the Justice League has been forced to make adjustments. Notably, this extends to the Flash family -- with Barry Allen set to become the Earth-0 representative to the multiversal team known as Justice Incarnate. In his stead, Allen had hoped the recently restored Wally West could take his place as the Flash and assume his duties in the Justice League. But despite the offer, The Flash #768 reveals that Wally actually doesn't want that; he wants to actually step away from heroics and be with his likewise reconnected family. Barry initially resists this, but Green Arrow agrees, saying that if Wally has had enough, then he's had enough.

However, Oliver Queen's tone takes a decidedly darker direction -- when Barry tells Ollie it's not fair to bring up the events of Heroes in Crisis, Ollie agrees but argues that it's the truth. If the world was fair, then it would have been Wally who died in the event instead of Roy. Unaware that his former sidekick has been restored to life in the fallout of Dark Nights: Death Metal, Ollie coldly tells his allies that if Wally wants to be done, he should be and that it's only a shame he didn't decide so before his actions cost multiple lives. It's a curt and cruel breakdown of Wally's role in the event from Green Arrow, but not necessarily a wrong one.

Notably, Wally doesn't try to argue with Ollie on the subject, instead of accepting his responsibility for what happened to their mutual friend. While the events of Heroes in Crisis have been largely countered in recent months. Eith even Wally's true culpability has been called into question after it was revealed that Reverse-Flash had targeted Wally and influenced his decision-making shortly before he lost control at Sanctuary and accidentally killed his fellow heroes. Still, it's clear that the trauma of that event still has an effect on the greater DC Universe.

Green Arrow is the perfect person to be furious at Wally even if the others have tried to understand and forgive him, even if it does fly in the face of hints that he'll support new faces in the group such as Black Adam. It sets the Green Arrow/Flash families of heroes potentially against one another and could pose an interesting new complication for the romantic relationship between Kid Flash and Red Arrow. If Wally does in fact become the main Flash for Earth-0, there's no telling if there can ever be a way for Ollie and Wally to truly become allies again.
