After an impressive campaign lasting nearly half a decade, Zack Synder's Justice League was released and has been a hit with fans and critics alike, demonstrating clear improvements from the 2017 version of Justice League that was taken over and finished by Joss Whedon— the latter of which was a box-office bomb, and put plans for the DCEU on hiatus.

With the positive feedback for the new version of the movie, some want this momentum to continue. The successful hashtag #releasethesnydercut has now transitioned to the hopeful hashtag #restorethesnyderverse, which is proving to be as popular as its predecessor. The Synder Cut set up a variety of future potential follow-up projects that could restore the SynderVerse and build the DCEU to new heights that could rival the MCU.

10 A Direct Justice League Sequel That Sees Darkseid Win

Zack Snyder's Justice League had almost as many endings as it did potential follow-up movies, most of them gravitating towards Snyder's plans for future Justice League movies. Darkseid's return to Earth to take on Earth's new defenders, and the dystopic world seen in the Knightmare sequence were two main elements.

Synder has suggested that Justice League 2 would have focused on Darkseid's battle with the Justice League. In a similar vein to Avengers: Infinity War, the villain would win and successfully see out his mission. In Darkseid's case, this would be to use the Anti-Life Equation to turn Superman against the team, using the death of Lois Lane to make this happen. This would result in the Knightmare world Batman envisions.

9 A Third Justice League Film Inspired By Injustice & Flashpoint

Superman In The Knightmare Future In Zack Snyder's Justice League

As Justice League 2 would have been DCEU's equivalent to Infinity War, Justice League would be the universe's Endgame. The movie would combine elements from two of DC's most popular series, Injustice and Flashpoint. The mismatched team of heroes and villains seen at the end of Snyder's Justice League would come together to stop Superman and Darkseid.

The Flash would play a critical part in the movie and the team's plan to correct the course. Barry Allen would use his newly developed time travel abilities which he showcased in Snyder's movie to warn Bruce Wayne about the events to come and the importance of Lois Lane. This was seen in Batman V Superman, illustrating that this has been Snyder's plan for the longest time.

8 A Man Of Steel Sequel That Expands On Clark & Lois' Story

A Man Of Steel sequel has been a concept lingering around Warner Bros' ever-changing plans for the DCEU since the release of the 2013 original movie. In 2018, Henry Cavill joked that you could expect this movie sometime between 2019 and 2045. The proposed movie has had a roller coaster ride in terms of its development.

The closest it has come happening was in 2019 when the established comic book director Matthew Vaughn was working on the project. The bleakest moment came in 2018 when Cavill announced his departure as the character, a year after Whedon's Justice League was released in which many of the character's roles were stripped back (not to mention the issues on set). However, the release of Snyder's version, which explores Superman and Lois' story as well as where it could go next, brings new hope for another Superman solo movie— especially if Snyder is on board.

7 A Cyborg Solo Movie That Picks Up After Justice League

Zack Snyder Justice League - Ray Fisher as Cyborg

In an alternative reality, a Cyborg movie was released in April of last year. This was the original plan from Warner Bros. when they announced their first official slate of movies in 2014. Since then, the future of Cyborg in the movies has looked increasingly bleak. The release of the Synder Cut reveals how much of a disservice this character and actor Ray Fisher were given in Whedon's version.

Cyborg is a main thread of Snyder's version, arguably the most important character in the movie. Whereas, he faded into the background of Whedon's version. Fisher has played an influential part in bringing the Synder Cut to life, as well as highlighting the troubles that occurred during the production of Whedon's version. There is no question that Snyder has big plans for the character and was planning at least one Cyborg solo movie, if not more.

6 An Atom Solo Movie Set In China

Ryan Zheng as the Atom in the Justice League Snyder Cut

Dr. Silas Stone's lab assistant, Ryan Choi, was nowhere to be found in the 2017 version of Justice League. However, he was heavily featured in the 2021 version. In the comics, Ryan Choi becomes a version of The Atom, a comic book character that has gained much popularity thanks to Brandon Routh's portrayal of Ray Palmer's version of The Atom.

Zack Snyder has confirmed that he did have plans for an Atom movie with Ryan Choi following on from Justice League. The director recently revealed he has even pitched it to Warner Bros. His goal is to have the movie set in China with a Chinese cast. Likewise to others on this list, Choi's story has been perfectly set up for a spin-off in the latest version of Justice League, if WB plans to go ahead.

5 A Green Lantern Corps Film That Brings Back Ryan Reynolds

Green Lantern is no stranger to the big screen. Unfortunately, the 2011 movie starring Ryan Reynolds was not well received and is often mocked. Despite this, the movie showcased the great potential Green Lantern has, and there are great moments in the movie. It was an unconventional character for WB and DC to chose at the time. There is a case that a Green Lantern movie would be better received now as modern pop-culture is highly populated by superheroes.

In July 2015 WB announced a Green Lantern Corps movie, that like many of WB's announced DC properties have not yet seen the light of day, and whose concept is constantly being changed with new stories and creators linked towards the movie. Both versions of the Justice League establish the Green Lantern Corps in the DCEU. Snyder's original plan was to have a Green lantern meet Bruce Wayne at the end of his movie, with rumors of a Ryan Reynolds return. WB rejected this idea, with Martian Manhunter appearing instead.

4 A Flash Solo Movie That Will Partially Adapt Flashpoint

Barry Allen was better established in Snyder's movie. His tragic backstory, personal motives, and developing powers including time travel. All of which is planned to be expanded upon in 2022. The Flash movie is currently in development, similar to other projects on this list it has had its ups and downs, frequent changes, and delays. However, the movie's future looks brighter than others as it seems as though it has finally settled on a story and creative team.

Director, Andy Muschietti has been updating fans on the movie's developments, including castings. Muschietti recently shared a video of his conversation with Sasha Calle where he revealed she would be Supergirl in his Flash movie. This movie has seen many proposed plots. Most of which have been inspired by the iconic Flashpoint comic series. The latest plot revolves around Barry Allen meeting various versions of Batman through time traveling and potential dimension crossing.

3 A Third Wonder Woman Film Set In The Present

Wonder Woman has been a staple in the DCEU since her introduction in Batman Vs Superman. She has had two movies, Wonder Woman (2017) and Wonder Woman 1984 (2020), both of which have avoided development delays that other projects have suffered. Each movie has been set in the past, focusing on Diana before her adventures with her fellow Justice League members.

Wonder Woman 3 has been confirmed to be in development. Zack Snyder's Justice League finished with Diana returning to her home of Themyscira. Therefore, it can be assumed that the third movie in the franchise could be set in the modern day. Patty Jenkins, who directed the previous two and is set to return for the third, has said that she does not want to see Diana in another period piece, which further alludes to a modern-day adventure.

2 A Batman: Deathstroke Movie That Sees Affleck Return To The Role

Deathstroke Manganiello Affleck Batman

Anticipation for a face-off between Batman and Deathstroke has been building since he was announced to appear in Ben Affleck's Batman movie. It continued when screen tests of Joe Manganiello as Slade Wilson were shared. Despite Affleck's movie getting sidelined, Manganiello did appear in the end credits of Whedon's Justice League, meeting with Lex Luthor and discussing making a league of their own.

Snyder's version revealed the initial plan for this scene and Slade's future in the DCEU. The screen is essentially shot for shot the same. However, what is discussed between Deathstroke and Luthor is different. In Snyder's version, Lex reveals the identity of Batman to Wilson, who is on a mission to take him down. Affleck is due to return to the DCEU in The Flash, meaning a Batman movie featuring him and Deathstroke could be back on track.

1 A Batman Movie That Adapts A Death In The Family

The Joker Taunting Batman In Zack Snyder's Justice League Knightmare

Snyder's Justice League featured the first on-screen conversation between Batman and The Joker in the DCEU. The discussion between the famous adversaries revealed a lot about their history in this universe. Most notable was the death of Robin at the hands of the Joker and Harley Quinn. This was hinted at in Batman V Superman with the Robin suit hanging in the Batcave with a note from the Joker attached.

These moments hint towards the iconic comic storyline A Death In The Family, which would be perfect for a cinematic adaptation. It has already proven to be a success in animation. With Robert Pattinson's Batman movie focusing on the earlier years of the Caped Crusader, it fits that a Death in the Family movie could be coming with either Pattinson or Affleck, as it fits in between each of their respective versions of the character.
