There's been much discussion on whether Superman will make an appearance in Justice League, with star Henry Cavill even teasing the Man of Steel's black suit over a year ago. Now, new merchandise for the film seems to confirm Superman and his black armor suit will indeed play a factor in the Warner Bros. superhero ensemble film.

SuperHeroStuff has a listing for a New Era "Superman Black Armor Justice League 39Thirty Fitted Hat." The product description for the hat presumably gives away a key spoiler for how Superman returns from his death in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, while also sticking close to the comic book story that inspires his resurrection.

In 1993, Superman died. Later that year, Superman returned.

Our Superman Black Armor Justice League 39Thirty Fitted Hat is based on Superman's costume post-death:

A black variation of the Superman suit adorned during his time in the regeneration matrix, a Kryptonian chamber that reversed the previously lethal effects of his protracted punch-em-up with Doomsday.

In the film Justice League, it seems Superman's cinematic resurrection will parallel the hit comic story, considering he returns in a stylish black costume soon after a very tense fight with Doomsday.

Superman’s black costume debuted in DC Comics’ sweeping 1992-93 storyline “The Death and Return of Superman,” elements of which played out in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, where the Man of Steel seemingly met his end in a battle with Doomsday.
