One thing that fans love to do is pore over something so intently that they can spot stuff that people might have missed, a pastime that's taken to even greater lengths when it comes to the home video release of a feature film. Thanks to the rise of DVD, Blu-ray and digital downloads, it's easier than ever to stop a scene and focus in on an Easter Egg or unintentional blooper.
That's exactly what happened this week, as one sharp-eyed fan noticed that in the climactic moments of last year's Justice League film, you can pause it at just the right moment -- and get a good shot of Steppenwolf's bare butt.
There are a number of reasons why this may have happened. Animators love to make jokes that amuse themselves and their friends, sneaking stuff in the background where they think no-one will notice it.
However, it's most likely that whoever's job it was to animate Steppenwolf -- who, we'll remind you, is an entirely CGI character -- thought it would be funny to animate a bare butt. Who would have thought that with Steppenwolf in Justice League and The Hulk in Thor: Ragnarok that 2017 would be the year of bare butts in superhero movies? It makes you wonder what Avengers: Infinity War has in store for us.
Available now on digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD, Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
