The first trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League has arrived, and it was accompanied by the launch of a new website for the film.

The Justice League microsite features a timer counting down to the release of the film on HBO Max. "There's a war coming in..." the caption reads. Visitors are provided with information about the films characters, including Darkseid and the members of the League.

Warner Bros. originally released Justice League in 2017. Production had faced a number of issues, including the departure of director Zack Snyder -- who left due to a personal tragedy -- and a number of edits and reshoots made by Joss Whedon, who was brought in to fill the role. The theatrical release of Justice League performed poorly at the box office and was met with mixed reviewed from critics and audiences. After Snyder revealed that his version of the film had been near complete, a significant portion of the fanbase launched petitions and the social media movement, #ReleasetheSnyderCut, demanding that Warner Bros. release the director's version of the film.

After a number of years, HBO Max announced that it would air Zack Snyder's Justice League and provide Snyder with the budget to complete the required VFX work. While it was originally announced that the cut would air in four parts, Snyder recently confirmed that it would premiere as a single film.

Snyder was open with fans in the past year about the changes that would be made to the film. This included the appearance of a number of characters that were ultimately cut from the theatrical release, such as Darkseid, Granny Goodness, Martian Manhunter, DeSaad and more.
