Justice League and Dark Nights: Metal writer Scott Snyder announced on Twitter that he and his wife Jeannie are expecting their third child this spring. Snyder also added that the baby's expected due date is already one held sacred by many comic fans: Free Comic Book Day.

Snyder's announcement also coincided with his own birthday, which the popular comic writer acknowledged in his tweet. "Already got the best b-day present possible," Snyder began. "Friends have known for a while, but I'm elated to say that J & I are expecting in the spring! Wild 2019 surprise, but we're both crazy excited & grateful."

"And get this -- no bullshit, he's due on FREE COMIC BOOK DAY," Snyder added.

Snyder's recent Dark Nights: Metal was a literal multiverse-shattering event that set the stage for his current storylines in Justice League -- stories that themselves hold potential for event-level ramifications around the DC Universe. Snyder's announcement heralds a whole different kind (and far more personal) life-changing event.

The couple already have two sons. This year's Free Comic Book Day takes place on Saturday, May 4.
