Aquaman may be the League's most underrated hero. While most of his powers strictly support underwater combat, Aquaman has proven just as dangerous on land. He's held up a continental plate, towed full container ships through choppy waters, and can survive pressures from the deepest parts of the ocean.

Aquaman's a fierce warrior, trained in multiple styles of combat, and carries the Poseidon's Trident, a powerful magical weapon. Aquaman can smash through just about any villain or hero in front of him. If the fight takes place in or near the water, Aquaman has even more weapons to use his against his foes.

5 Zatanna's Powers Make Her Frightening

John Constantine is scary because of what he's done. Zatanna is scary because of what her powers can do. She's long been the League's premiere magic user, a formidable mage like few others. Her backwards talking spellcraft allows her to do the impossible. Anyone who isn't scared of her hasn't been paying attention.

Zatanna's warm and caring personality lead many people to underestimate her. However, when Zatanna gets mad, there are few heroes out there who'd prove more dangerous. If she starts pouring down terrible outcomes on the source of her ire, she'll be extremely difficult to stop.

4 Superman Is Wholesome But Still Terrifying

Superman has established himself as the League's greatest role model. He's the most wholesome hero around, but that doesn't mean there aren't reasons to fear him. Superman can defeat most villains single-handedly with very little fuss. He possesses more power than most of his fellow teammates, and can easily take them down, even if they try using his weaknesses against him.

Superman can move faster than the speed of light, lift tremendous structures, and has a myriad of sensory abilities that allow him to pinpoint and exploit any weaknesses. He's as dangerous from orbit as he is up close. Superman is a good person, but he's as scary as they come.

3 The Flash's Powers Are Frighteningly Versatile

The Flash, whether it be Barry Allen or Wally West, has always been an important part of the Justice League. The Speed Force makes the Flash an extremely formidable hero, capable of single-handedly defeating just about any hero or villain out there. He can move faster than most can perceive, vibrate through matter, and strike with unimaginable force.

The Flash is nearly untouchable for anyone without superspeed. His powers give him the perfect defense, and his offensive attacks are devastating. When the Flash gets serious and locks in during a battle, there's really no one who can stop him.

She doesn't like to kill, but if the situation demands it, she will step in and do what she feels must be done. Wonder Woman's proficient use of power and skill make anyone facing her think twice.

Martian Manhunter became the most versatile member of the Justice League. He possessed Superman-level strength and durability, amazing speed, could shapeshift, had powerful Martian vision, and was a telepath. Making him more formidable, he could become invisible and intangible. Martian Manhunter could be anyone, anywhere, and no one would know. He can strike with unimaginable power physically or mentally.

Capable of striking opponents with unimaginable physical power or mental might, Martian Manhunter is easily the scariest member of the League. He can hide in any crowd, level everyone around him with Martian vision, transform into someone's greatest fear, or act as an observant ghost. Few power combinations have ever been more frightening.
