Ray Fisher, who played Cyborg/Victor Stone in 2017's Justice League, has officially taken back previous kind words he'd made about Zack Snyder's replacement on the film, Joss Whedon.Fisher shared a video of himself and co-star Jason Momoa at Comic-Con International: San Diego in 2017, in which he said, "Joss is a great guy and Zack picked a good person to come in and clean up and finish up for him." Along with the clip, Fisher commented, "I’d like to take a moment to forcefully retract every bit of this statement."

A number of major changes were made to Justice League after Snyder stepped down and Whedon took over, including the removal of a larger storyline centering on Cyborg. Snyder has shared a number of photos of additional scenes featuring Victor Stone.

Following years of pressing from the Snyder Cut movement, Warner Bros. announced that Zack Snyder's Justice League will officially release on HBO Max. Fisher himself has been a big supporter of the Snyder Cut and recently thanked Snyder, saying, "I praise them (Snyder and writer Chris Terrio) for EMPOWERING me (a black man with no film credits to his name) with a seat at the creative table and input on the framing of the Stones before there was even a script!"
