The critical response to Justice League has been a polarizing affair to say the least, but fans are still showing up droves to form their own opinions of the superhero ensemble.

According to Variety, Warner Bros. latest entry to the DCEU brought in $13 million during Thursday night previews, good for the fifth-highest total of 2017 thus far behind only Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2, Beauty and the Beast, Spider-Man: Homecoming, and Thor: Ragnarok. The total also marks a $2 million dollar uptick over Wonder Woman, which debuted to $11 million back in June.

While the return marks a healthy beginning, Warner Bros. has a lot on the line with the film, and the fates of many future DCEU spin-off could be decided over the next several weeks depending on the long-term success of Justice League. Some sources estimate that the film will have to bring in at least $600 million worldwide to simply break even, but Warner Bros. clearly has bigger hopes for their robust team-up, particularly after Wonder Woman's solo debut totaled over $800 million worldwide during its theatrical run.
