As seen in the final pages of last week's Justice League: No Justice #2, written by Scott Snyder, James Tynion IV and Joshua Williamson and illustrated by Francis Manapul and Marcus To, Vril Dox has made his DC Rebirth debut. Judging by comments from Snyder, as well as the recently released August 2018 solicitations, it sounds like Justice League Odyssey has big plans for the leader of L.E.G.I.O.N.

During a Reddit AMA session, Snyder was asked if there were any plans for Vril Dox to encounter his former allies from the sci-fi superteam L.E.G.I.O.N. In response, Snyder told fans to keep an eye out for the character in the upcoming Justice League Odyssey.

The new Justice League series, debuting in July, focuses on the cosmic heroes of the DC Universe, with writer Joshua Williamson and artist Stejpan Sejic at the helm. The released solicit info for the second issue teases the new team taking on Vril Dox after the Brainiac clone attacks Coluan refugees with an army of Manhunter robots.

First created in February 1964 in the pages of Superman #167 by Edmond Hamilton, Cary Bates and Curt Swan, Vril Dox was originally the adopted son of Superman villain Brainiac. Following Crisis on Infinite Earths, the character was reintroduced in January 1989 by Keith Giffen, Bill Mantlo and Todd McFarlane in Invasion! #1 as a clone of the original Brainiac. Spinning out of the DC crossover, Vril Dox created his own spacefaring superteam L.E.G.I.O.N., with the team's eponymous series running from 1989 to 1994 with sporadic appearances across the DCU since.
