WARNING: The following contains minor spoilers for Zack Snyder's Justice League, now streaming on HBO Max.

We, apparently, do not live in a society.

In the first full trailer for Zack Snyder's Justice League, Jared Leto's Joker channels a notorious internet meme when he delivers the line, "We live in a society where honor is a distant memory." However, this line is not present in the final cut of the film released on HBO Max, with director Zack Snyder revealing that Leto ad-libbed it for the trailer.

"We went back and forth with it," Snyder said while discussing the line during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. "And I'll give Jared credit for that little ad lib there, 'cause it was really, really beautiful."

Zack Snyder's Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ray Porter as Darkseid, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon. The film is currently available on HBO Max.
