DC has unveiled its post-Future State plans with a new publishing initiative dubbed Infinite Frontier that mixes a new generation of superheroes with established figures taking on a dramatically different status quo. As DC announced its plans for the upcoming initiative, the publisher released a teaser image illustrated by David Marquez focusing on the characters linked to the Justice League.

Now, here's a quick rundown of all the characters that appeared in the Justice League teaser image and clues about how Infinite Frontier may find them.

Justice League

Bendis' Justice League With Hawkgirl, Black Adam, Superman, And Aquaman in DC Comics

A new Justice League is coming next year, with mainstays Superman, Batman, Aquaman and Hawkgirl joined by some familiar faces that haven't been on the team for a considerable amount of time. Joining the veteran team members are Black Canary, who hasn't been on the main Justice League in nearly a decade, and Hippolyta, who has succeeded her daughter to become Wonder Woman and join the League once again. The series will be helmed by Brian Michael Bendis and David Marquez, with Green Arrow as the new team leader.

The New Recruits

While Black Adam has steadily been working towards redemption, especially in the crossover event Endless Winter, the antihero will play a major role in the Justice League in 2021, a first for the character. He is joined by the Wonder Comics character Naomi, upgrading her role on Young Justice to become a full-fledged member of the Justice League with co-creator Bendis at the helm.

Titans

The Titans are back, with Nightwing and Donna Troy leading the charge against Lobo, joined by familiar faces including Red Arrow, Wallace West's Kid Flash and Beast Boy, joined by heroes from Titans Academy. While what would pit the Titans, including his young daughter Crush, against Lobo, is unknown, Red X is poised to play a major role as well, seen observing the combatants from the horizon.

Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad feature

A new Suicide Squad is coming to the DCU, with Amanda Waller back at the helm in Infinite Frontier. This new roster includes Electrocutioner, Peacemaker, a Talon from the Court of Owls, Superwoman, among others. Most surprising is the apparent presence of Superboy, as a continuation of Conner Kent's prominent role on the team set to unfold in Future State. However, it's not clear if Conner Kent will maintain his role as the team's new field leader.

Heroes in Crisis

Future State Green Lantern cover header

Not ever hero in the teaser is standing triumphantly, some are visibly not having a great time. The most prominent of these is Green Lantern John Stewart, kneeling before a shattered Green Lantern. Future State hinted at John taking point in the Green Lantern mythos moving forward, with the Central Power Battery out of energy. Infinite Frontier likely hints at this ominous development for the intergalactic peacekeepers. Barry Allen and Wally West are also seen in anguish, teeing up Wally reclaiming The Flash mantle, while Shazam is seen in his own electric transformation.

A New Evil

Death Metal Darkseid

The only discernible villain seen in the teaser image is Darkseid, observing the proceedings from the horizon. Last seen in the crossover event Dark Nights: Death Metal, the Lord of Apokolips presided over a planet that recreated the events of Final Crisis only with him and forces emerging triumphant. The version of Darkseid in the teaser resembles his appearance in Death Metal, with curled horns visibly emerging from his head.
