Fresh off the news that a Nightwing movie is in the works, another rumor pinpoints Green Lantern as the next superhero to join DC’s ever growing universe.
During a live Periscope Q&A, TheWrap's Umberto Gonzalez was asked if WB had any plans for Green Lantern. Though WB has announced a “Green Lanterns Corps” film, the studio hasn't yet cast anyone, and they certainly haven't announced any story details. Gonzalez, however, teased that one of the ring-wearing heroes will appear in the upcoming “Justice League” film.
Gonzalez warned that this is still a rumor and is subject to change, but he did say that if a member did appear, it wouldn’t be Hal Jordan; instead, it will be someone with “a funny sounding name” that he can’t remember, though he did confirm that it definitely isn't Kilowog. He added that Hal Jordan or John Stewart could make an appearance once they're cast, but that isn't on the table right now.
The hard thing about predicting which Green Lantern will make an appearance in "Justice League" is that there’s just so many of them. Speculating on something like this is nearly impossible, so -- until we have any solid casting confirmations or WB makes an announcement -- all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.
Starring Ben Affleck, Henry Cavill, Gal Gadot, Jason Momoa, Ezra Miller and Ray Fisher, “Justice League” arrives in theaters November 17.
