The one thing that defines the Justice League is their overall sense of good. The original members of the team were all based on the legendary Greek Gods, and they were all on the side of good, seeking to triumph over evil. However, as time passed on and new members joined, things began to move to a grey area with the lineup.

Even the initial superheroes, all deemed good and pure at the start, began to develop those shades of grey, and not all of them were the bright upstanding citizens that DC Comics initially presented. With that in mind, there is a fun way to classify the moral and personal attitudes of characters, and here is which member of the Justice League you are based on your Dungeons & Dragons moral alignment.

10 SUPERMAN - LAWFUL GOOD

Superman has a common motto that everyone knows. He stands for "truth, justice, and the American way." In DC Comics, there might not be a superhero that is as beloved and trusted as Superman. This is because he is someone who will not cross any grey boundaries unless there is no other choice and will work to save someone before he ever considers hurting someone.

Whether he is saving a woman from leaping off a building to her death or saving people from a supervillain, he is there to help everyone. He is also brutally honest and is someone who keeps his word and will stand to all injustice. Superman is the true face of the Crusader.

9 BATMAN - CHAOTIC GOOD

Batman could fit as the Neutral Good, especially when looking at the word "Benefactor." However, more often than not, he sits on the side of the Chaotic Good character in the Dungeons & Dragons moral alignment.

Batman is someone who lets his conscious drive him, although he is also analytical and brilliant as a detective. He makes his own way and tries to remain independent of anyone around him. He will break just about any law to stop the real criminals and has a strong moral compass that others do not. He even has plans to take down his own friends if they get out of line.

8 WONDER WOMAN - NEUTRAL GOOD

Wonder Woman is a complex character and is never consistent across mediums. Her level of goodness is always dependent on who is writing her or what the movie or TV show needs in her character. Take a look at her DCEU movie, and she is very close to being Lawful Good as she will help save people and does everything for the greater good.

However, Diana is also someone who doesn't care about laws and regulations. Even in her purest moments in World War II, she ignored protocol, shamed men who only followed orders, and set off to save people in need. Everything she does is to help people, and she won't even let the law get in her way.

7 GREEN ARROW - CHAOTIC GOOD

Many people like to compare Green Arrow to Batman, and for a good reason. Both are millionaire playboys who inherited their wealth and riches from their families. Both use their money to set up a base of operations to fight evil and protect their towns from evildoers.

Both are also Chaotic Good on the Dungeons & Dragons moral alignment. Green Arrow is even more of a rebel than Batman. He is on the run from the law more often than not, and the TV show Arrow also showed him willing to kill to keep order, which is a line even Batman would not cross.

6 FLASH - LAWFUL GOOD

Flash is a superhero, but he is also a law enforcement officer. Barry Allen worked as a CSI tech, investigating criminal cases and helping to bring in the villains by the letter of the law. He moves that over to his work as a superhero as well, someone who doesn't shy away from doing the right thing and never going dark.

Flash is also one of the most idealistic members of the Justice League, believing in the best of everyone. Whether it is his mature police investigator in DC Comics or his younger, more wide-eyed hero in movies and TV, Flash is a Crusader to the end.

5 GREEN LANTERN - LAWFUL GOOD

Being a Lawful Good character in the Dungeons & Dragons moral alignment chart is not always a great thing. There is a danger to the Crusaders when they take their beliefs and use them to restrict freedom and criminalize self-interest to those around them.

Much like Flash, Green Lantern is a police officer. However, he is a space cop as part of the Green Lantern Corps. Green Lantern is someone who believes in the letter of the law and sets out to follow orders under his oath. He is honest and helps those in need, but he is also someone who single-mindedly fights evil.

4 AQUAMAN - CHAOTIC NEUTRAL

Aquaman is one of the strongest and noblest members of the Justice League, but he is also the King of Atlantis. He is a hero who helps people and saves lives, but he is also someone who leads his nation as their ruler and is not someone who will stand for rebellion.

Aquaman is closely aligned with the Chaotic Neutral Dungeons & Dragons moral alignment chart. He is even closer to this in the DCEU, where Jason Mamoa's portrayal fits the "Free Spirit" title to a tee, avoiding authority and challenging all traditions.

3 CYBORG - NEUTRAL GOOD

Cyborg is an interesting case. Victor Stone has changed a lot over the years. He started as an idealistic teenager in the Teen Titans who loved to joke around as much as anything. However, since the New 52, he has been a Justice League member and one of the big guns in DC Comics.

With that said, Victor is also a cyborg, half-man, and half-machine. He has the brain and beliefs of a hero, but he also can see things that no one else can, the mechanisms of how things work. He knows what has to be done for the greater good, and he can do it without bias.

2 SHAZAM - CHAOTIC NEUTRAL

Shazam is an interesting character. As a Justice League member, he is just as powerful as Superman and might have the advantage as he utilizes magic to give him his powers — one of Superman's weaknesses. However, he also has the mind of a child, and that child was an orphan who is strong-willed and independent.

Billy Batson is the true definition of a "free spirit," an individualist that struggles with authority figures and can disrupt organizations, mostly when he doesn't mean to. He is unpredictable but is still someone that those around him can trust.

1 MARTIAN MANHUNTER - LAWFUL NEUTRAL

Martian Manhunter was the law on Mars, and when he came to Earth, he kept that idea in mind. Martian Manhunter fits the role of the Lawful Neutral character in the Dungeons & Dragons moral alignment chart as the role is also referred to as the "judge."

Out of the members of the Justice League, it is Martian Manhunter who works a little closer to the black ops styled government-regulated superhero archetype. He knows what needs to be done to keep peace and has no problem doing what is honorable while also keeping the peace.
