Concept art from Zack Snyder's Justice League features a terrifying and menacing Darkseid donning scaly armor.

The artwork was posted by Jerad S.Marantz on his Instagram account. "Working on #Darkseid was a complete honor. He is easily one of the most iconic characters in the DC universe and I could not believe my luck when I got the chance to take on this Super villain," he wrote. "I absolutely love the world Zack Snyder created and what he's done with these iconic characters. I had an incredible time working with costume designer Michael Wilkinson. He truly is one of the best in the business!"

The armor Darkseid is wearing in the art is quite different from the final version used in the film, and matches the style of his lieutenant, Steppenwolf. Marantz also worked up a different version of Steppenwolf's armor on his Instagram. He also has designs for Batman, Cyborg and DeSaad posted.

Zack Snyder's Justice League premiered to overall positive reviews, scoring a 71% on Rotten Tomatoes among critics and a 95% audience score. It also increased downloads for the HBO Max app by 64%. However, of the 2.2 million households that started the film, only 36% of them finished the four-hour movie in its entirety.
