What does a fish need with money? That’s the question Ben Affleck’s Bruce Wayne was looking to answer in a deleted Justice League scene that saw the Caped Crusader try to bribe Jason Momoa’s Aquaman onto his superhero team. The scene can be found on the Blu-ray release of the film, which shows Bruce flashing a comically large wad of cash while pinned against a wall by Aquaman.

The scene plays out much differently in the final film. Bruce attempts to appeal to Aquaman’s sense of duty, but the rogue King of Atlantis isn't swayed. It’s not until Steppenwolf pilfers a Mother Box from Atlantis that the sea-bound hero realizes what’s at stake.

It’s unclear if this scene was an invention of Zack Snyder or Joss Whedon. Snyder was the film’s first director, but had to leave the project due to a family tragedy. Whedon came on later to finish the film, so it’s hard to say which director is responsible for which parts of Justice League.

Justice League stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
