Although it's not the extended cut so many fans have demanded, a retailer-exclusive Blu-ray release of Justice League will feature a bonus scene that wasn't screened in theaters.
The news arrives courtesy of retail giant Walmart, whose website listing of the exclusive preorder includes an image of the film's Blu-ray cover, complete with a sticker trumpeting a "bonus scene not seen in theaters!" That would seem to indicate the film will feature only one additional scene, much like "Etta's Mission," included in the home release of Wonder Woman.
That might come as disappointing news for fans hoping that Warner Bros. would release an extended cut, or even a Zack Snyder director's cut. The call for a longer version of Justice League came almost as soon as the film was released in November, after many fans complained about the movie's surprisingly short run time. With reports confirming that many scenes were left on the cutting-room floor, some devotees anticipated an extended version akin to those for Batman v. Superman and Suicide Squad. However, with only a single extra scene on the Blu-ray, that doesn't appear to be the case.
Justice League is expected for digital release on Jan 30. The film stars Ben Affleck as Batman, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman, Henry Cavill as Superman, Amy Adams as Lois Lane, Jason Momoa as Aquaman, Ezra Miller as The Flash, Ray Fisher as Cyborg, Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth, Diane Lane as Martha Kent, Ciarán Hinds as Steppenwolf, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor and J.K. Simmons as Commissioner Gordon.
