Following their high-profile relationship in the early 2000s, Affleck and Lopez broke off their first engagement and each moved on to notable, long-term marriages. Affleck was married to Elektra star Jennifer Garner from 2005 to 2018, while Lopez married singer Marc Anthony, who she was in a relationship with from 2004 to 2014. Affleck and Lopez reunited quite recently and revealed they were engaged in April this year.

While the pair themselves have not provided any public comments on the recent wedding, an insider explained, "It was super, super small. [Jennifer's] mom and kids were there. They just wanted to be married so they got married." On their reunion, Lopez previously explained, "We're older now, we're smarter, we have more experience, we're at different places in our lives, we have kids now, and we have to be very conscious of those things."

Affleck has enjoyed a career marked by several iconic feature film projects, including Good Will Hunting, Shakespeare in Love and Pearl Harbor, among other things. Over the last decade, some of his biggest hits have involved Warner Bros.' DC Extended Universe, in which the actor played Bruce Wayne, better known as Batman, in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Suicide Squad and Justice League.

After stepping away from the role, Affleck will play Wayne once again in the upcoming Flash movie. The project brings both Affleck and actor Michael Keaton back as their respective iterations of the Dark Knight. Affleck himself has stated in the past that his upcoming appearance contains some of his best work as the DCEU's Batman.

He explained, "Maybe my favorite scenes in terms of Batman and the interpretation of Batman that I have done, were in the Flash movie. I hope they maintain the integrity of what we did because I thought it was great and really interesting -- different, but not in a way that is incongruent with the character. Who knows? Maybe they will decide that it doesn't work, but when I went and did it, it was really fun and really, really satisfying and encouraging and I thought, 'Wow -- I think I have finally figured it out.'"

The Flash is scheduled to hit theaters on June 23, 2023.
