Though the film was whittled down to a runtime of two hours for its theatrical release, director Zack Snyder revealed the assembly cut of Justice League clocked in at five hours long.In an assembly cut, the editor pieces together all the footage that has been shot for a director to watch. Certain fans and members of Justice League's cast and crew have been pushing for a release of the "Snyder Cut" of the 2017 superhero film. Snyder seemingly confirmed the existence of his alternate cut, though there is currently no evidence to suggest Warner Bros. has any plans to release it to the public.

Zack Snyder left production of Justice League due to a family tragedy. Directorial duties on the film were taken over by Joss Whedon.
