"Justice League" #49 Preview Art Teases Lex Luthor's Mysterious New Role

At WonderCon2016's DC All Access panel, DC Comics revealed new artwork from "Justice League" #49 and #50, which will conclude Geoff Johns and Jason Fabok's "Darkseid War" story arc. One of the images teases an all-new role for Lex Luthor, who is currently a member of the Justice League.

Over the course of "Darkseid War," Lex Luthor was abandoned on Apokolips after Superman was tainted by the planet and took off for earth. Shortly thereafter, Darkseid died, and Luthor became its new ruler. The image shows Luthor sitting on Darkseid's throne, which befits his new position; however, the Superman symbol on his costume raises several new questions.

"Justice League" #49 goes on sale April 20.
