With Jurassic World Dominion now in theaters, a special expansion for Jurassic World Evolution 2 is also making its debut. Jurassic World Evolution 2: Dominion Biosyn will tie the new film and the overall series' lore into the game in a big way. New challenges and exciting new dinosaurs will be brought to the game, giving fans the best parts of Dominion in their own parks and campaigns.

Jurassic World Dominion takes place after the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. Dinosaurs have run rampant across the world, and a new evil corporation named Biosyn is trying to take advantage of the chaos to make a profit despite its tactics quickening the potential extinction of the human race. Along with the new dinosaurs, a number of returning fan favorite characters are featured in the movie, and will now be available for gamers to enjoy thanks to Jurassic World Evolution 2's new expansion.

Two new variants are being added to the Giganotosaurus and the Dreadnoughtus, bringing them up to date with the film's canon representation, as well as two new skins for the T.rex, including an up-to-date scarred version and the feathered version seen in the film's opening. The Dilophosaurus' return to the films is being celebrated with an up-to-date skin and the series staple herbivore, Parasaurolophus is getting 3 brand-new skins to diversify players' herds.

Four brand-new species are being added to the game as well. The Pyroraptor is a relative of the fan-favorite Velociraptor and is instantly noticeable with its bright red feathers. The Therizinosaurus is next on the list, a rare example of a deadly herbivore in the series with scythe-like claws. This territorial creature appears in the film's trailer pursuing Bryce Dallas Howard's Claire Dearing and forcing her to hide in a nearby pond.

A firm fan favorite since the original film's toy line introduced it, the Dimetrodon is not a dinosaur at all, but still poses a threat as a carnivore that hides in deep mine shafts, using its neural spine sail on its back for heart regulation. Lastly, the Quetzalcoatlus is a much-anticipated addition to players' aviaries. One of the largest creatures to ever take flight, the Quetzalcoatlus was seen in the trailer bringing down a plane nearly as big as itself and will prove a true challenge for players to manage in their own parks.

Additionally, a brand-new campaign is being released alongside, delving into the secrets of Biosyn. A rival company to John Hammond's Ingen, Biosyn was the company that tried to steal the embryos in the original Jurassic Park using disgruntled computer engineer Dennis Nedry (Wayne Knight) as a middleman and inadvertently causing the downfall of the park. Interestingly, this campaign utilizes invisible fences and a new Hyper Loop transportation system that will shuttle guests around in place of the game's usual monorail system.

All new decorations, vehicles and buildings will also be added to match the style of buildings seen in the film. During the campaign, beloved characters from the franchise will be alongside the player dispensing advice, including Claire Dearing (voiced by Bryce Dallas Howard), Dr. Alan Grant (voiced by Sam Neill), Dr. Ellie Sattler (voiced by Laura Dern), and Lewis Dodgson (voiced by Campbell Scott).

The final addition for the Dominion Biosyn expansion is a brand new Chaos Theory level which will see players working in the Sierra Nevada range, directly inspired by movie scenes in which Owen Grady (Chris Pratt) tries to round up a group of Parasaurolophus on horseback through a beautiful snow-filled backdrop. Translating this to the game, a new dinosaur-wrangling mechanic can be used to corral herds in order to move dinosaurs around the map. Another thrilling addition to this mode is the threat of dinosaur poachers, who will try and break into players' parks and steal their dinosaurs. Careful monitoring of the perimeter and security measures will be a must to stop the thieves before they make off with any precious dinosaurs, a tactic that is central to Dominion itself.

Alongside the expansion, a massive free update is arriving for all players, bringing with it some much-desired quality-of-life changes to the Park Tour ride and to the way dinosaurs are transported within parks. Multiple dinosaurs will be able to be moved at a time with this update, something fans have been very keen to see in this series. With Dominion gearing up to be the biggest film of the summer and the new Dominion Biosyn expansion bringing a huge amount of new content that ties into the film, it seems to be shaping up to be a great year for Jurassic World fans everywhere.
