Universal Pictures and NBC Sports released a new promo merging Jurassic World: Dominion and the 2022 Winter Olympics.

The TV spot features Team USA alpine skier Mikaela Shiffrin, a two-time Olympic gold medalist, gliding down the slopes when she notices a raptor running alongside her. Just as she's about the be attacked by the iconic creature, the two encounter an even more infamous Jurassic World foe: the Tyrannosaurus rex.

"We've all grown up being awe-struck by the incredible dinosaurs in the Jurassic World films, so to suddenly be able to step into the world of these films and interact with [raptor] Blue myself was exciting and unforgettable," Shiffrin said in a press release.

Shiffrin is one of three Olympic athletes who will appear in crossover promos for Jurassic World: Dominion and the Winter Olympics. Snowboarder Shaun White and figure skater Nathan Chen will also come face to face with iconic Jurassic World dinosaurs in similar TV spots expected to air prior to the Opening Ceremony on Feb. 4.

Universal Pictures recently released the prologue for Dominion, which sees a massive T-Rex stomping its way through a drive-in movie theater. The footage was initially intended to be included in the final cut of Dominion, but it instead serves as a teaser setting up the events of the upcoming sequel.

The third film in the Jurassic World franchise features the return of Jurassic Park veterans Sam Neill, Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum, who will be joining current franchise stars Chris Pratt and Bryce Dallas Howard. Director Colin Trevorrow recently revealed that the legacy cast members play a major role in Dominion, as opposed to showing up for mere cameos.

Trevorrow also explained how Dominion will be a celebration of the entire Jurassic Park franchise, describing the Jurassic World threequel as a "true ensemble." According to the filmmaker, the latest sequel serves as "a culmination of one story that's been told" since the original Jurassic Park trilogy.

Dominion introduces several new dinosaurs to the franchise, some of which can be seen in the film's prologue. The extended preview kicks off 65 million years in the past, marking the franchise's first flashback to prehistoric times.

Several new images from the highly-anticipated film recently debuted, including a still of Pratt's Owen Grady being chased by a new breed of raptor known as the Atrociraptor, which Trevorrow described as "far deadlier" than the well-known Velociraptor.

Jurassic World: Dominion hits theaters June 10, 2022.
