Chris Pratt revealed that his upcoming film, Jurassic World Dominion, will be the last installment in the Jurassic Park franchise.

In an interview with the Today Show, Pratt teased that the movie will be an explosive end to the storyline that began in the original trilogy. "You know when you go to a fireworks display like the Fourth of July or New Years, there's always the finale? You're waiting for it, and then boom! And you're like, 'Oh! This is it! This is the finale!' I feel like the whole movie is that. It's...30 years in the making, it's the sixth Jurassic film, it's the end of this franchise."

"I really do think it's the end," Pratt continued when asked whether Jurassic World Dominion would really conclude the series of iconic films. "You've got the legacy cast back — Sam Neil, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum plus the cast of Jurassic World all...converging in a way that is very much a finale."

The Guardians of the Galaxy star then went on to comment about the return of the original trilogy's cast, expressing his excitement to work with them. "The first time I saw Jurassic Park, I was thirteen. I had no idea I was going to be an actor," he added. "If you would've told me that I would be doing this, there's no way I would've believed it. And these folks were cemented in my mind as icons, and so to be working with them is a dream come true."

Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World Dominion takes place nearly half a decade after the Lockwood estate incident depicted in the previous film, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom. With dinosaurs now roaming the planet alongside mankind, the balance of the world begins to shift as human beings suddenly find themselves no longer at the top of the food chain.

The Jurassic World series has enjoyed great success, with the first and second films respectively becoming the seventh and sixteenth highest-grossing movies of all time at the time of writing. Joining Pratt, Neil, Dern and Goldblum is an ensemble cast consisting of Bryce Dallas Howard, Mamoudou Athie, Scott Haze, Dichen Lachman, Daniella Pineda, Campbell Scott, Isabella Sermon, Justice Smith, Omar Sy, DeWanda Wise and BD Wong.

Jurassic World Dominion hits theaters on June 10.
