Netflix, DreamWorks Animation and Amblin Entertainment released the Season 4 trailer for Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous.
The trailer begins with Darius, Brook-Lynne, Kenji, Ben, Yas and Sammy aboard the yacht they used to escape Isla Nublar in Season 3. However, thanks to the Mosasaurus, they're soon shipwrecked on a mysterious new island that's home to a Tyrannosaurus rex, a sabertooth tiger and a Spinosaurus, the latter suggesting the campers might have found themselves on Isla Sorna.
Isla Sorna first appeared in The Lost World: Jurassic Park and was described as "Site B," where Isla Nublar's dino-zoo attractions were raised by InGen before being shipped 90 miles away to Jurassic Park. The island was also the main locale in Jurassic Park III, which featured the Spinosaurus as the primary prehistoric threat. Notably, the Spinosaurus proved controversial to longtime fans of the franchise when it killed a T-rex with relative ease (this wasn't nearly as controversial as a dream-induced Velociraptor shouting "Alan," of course).
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous premiered on Netflix in 2019, centering on six children who attended a summer camp on Isla Nublar during the events of Jurassic World. When the island was evacuated, however, the kids were left behind to fend for themselves. Season 2 saw the addition of three new adult characters: Mitch, Tiff and Hap. While the kids believed this meant they were saved, Mitch and Tiff were revealed to be big-game hunters looking to kill dinosaurs (they were ultimately killed themselves), while Hap sacrificed himself to save the children from several Baryonyxes. In Season 3, the show caught up with the events of Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom and introduced a new hybrid dinosaur called the Scorpius rex, but the kids were able to get off the island before it was destroyed in the aforementioned film.
Following Season 3, executive producer and co-showrunner Scott Kreamer told ComicBook.com, "if this is the last episode, we want it to feel like a fitting conclusion. But the fact that they're off the Island on a boat with something else on the boat, kind of leaves it wide open. There are so many [questions]. Do they get home? Do they go to Isla Sorna? Do they get one of the Five Deaths? Do they go to another island completely? Do they make it? I don't know. We'll have to see. But you do twenty-six episodes of kids running from dinosaurs, and at a certain point, you got to get off the Island and see what happens next."
Jurassic World: Camp Cretaceous Season 4 premieres Dec. 3 on Netflix.
