Jurassic World: Dominion will see the return of three Jurassic Park stars, including Sam Neill as Dr. Alan Grant. Neill recently spoke about how he grew into Dr. Alan Grant.

Neill discussed his portrayal of Grant in the critically panned Jurassic Park III with Collider. "For me, by the time I got to 3, probably a bit late in the day, I’d sort of worked out how to play that character, which I hadn’t really quite gotten around to in the first one," Neill recalled.

"I was still trying to work out, how do you play that guy in the hat? Something that comes completely naturally to someone like Harrison Ford. Not naturally to me."

The Jurassic Park star added that he felt that the third film in the franchise received a bad rap. "I was just talking to someone earlier in the day who said, 'I really like Jurassic Park III and it gets an unfair [treatment].' He was from Rotten Tomatoes, I think it was him," he said. "And I said, 'Thank you very much!' I agree that the last 10 minutes are way too easy and way too hurried, but I think up to that point, it’s pretty damn good."

Jurassic Park III saw Alan Grant returning to Isla Sorna to help a divorced couple find their son, encountering several dinosaurs including a Spinosaurus. Jurassic World: Dominion will reunite Neill with co-stars Laura Dern and Jeff Goldblum. The upcoming film will be the first time all three stars have been in a film since 1993's Jurassic Park.

Directed by Colin Trevorrow, Jurassic World: Dominion stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard, Sam Neill, Laura Dern, Jeff Goldblum, Jake Johnson, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Omar Sy, Isabelle Sermon and B.D. Wong. The film arrives in theaters on June 10, 2022.
