Jeff Goldblum's Dr. Ian Malcolm offers a grim warning of what's to come in a 30-second promo for the new trailer for Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom, which arrives Wednesday, April 18.

"These creatures were here before us," he says over footage of prehistoric predators stalking their decidedly present-day prey, "and if we're not careful, they're gonna be here after us. Welcome to Jurassic World."

We'll guess not everybody responds to his alarm, as Fallen Kingdom revolves around the effort by Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) to save the remaining dinosaurs on Isla Nublar when a long-dormant volcano suddenly awakes, threatening another extinction.

It’s been four years since theme park and luxury resort Jurassic World was destroyed by dinosaurs out of containment. Isla Nublar now sits abandoned by humans while the surviving dinosaurs fend for themselves in the jungles. When the island’s dormant volcano begins roaring to life, Owen (Chris Pratt) and Claire (Bryce Dallas Howard) mount a campaign to rescue the remaining dinosaurs from this extinction-level event. Owen is driven to find Blue, his lead raptor who’s still missing in the wild, and Claire has grown a respect for these creatures she now makes her mission. Arriving on the unstable island as lava begins raining down, their expedition uncovers a conspiracy that could return our entire planet to a perilous order not seen since prehistoric times.

Directed by J.A. Bayona from a script by Colin Trevorrow and Derek Connolly, Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stars Chris Pratt, Bryce Dallas Howard and B.D. Wong, joined by Toby Jones, Rafe Spall, Justice Smith, Daniella Pineda, Ted Levine, Geraldine Chaplin, James Cromwell and Jeff Goldblum. The film opens June 22.
