WARNING: The following article contains spoilers for Jupiter's Legacy Season 1, which is available now on Netflix.

Over the course of Jupiter's Legacy Season 1, a lot of groundwork is laid for Season 2. In the past timeline, Sheldon Sampson/Utopian successfully gets a crew consisting of Walter Sampson/Brainwave, Grace Kennedy Sampson/Lady Liberty, Richard Conrad/Blue-Bolt, Fitz/The Flare and George Hutchence/Skyfox to the mysterious island, where superpowers are bestowed on them by manifestations of those departed whom they most wanted to see. While in the present timeline, it's revealed that Brainwave created a clone of the villain Blackstar and pit him against the Union in a bid to turn Brandon Sampson/Paragon against his father, Utopian, and change the course of history forever.

Here's a deeper look at just how Jupiter's Legacy Season 1 sets up Season 2.

The Early Days of the Union May Be Coming

Jupiter's Legacy - Blue-bolt

At the end of Jupiter's Legacy, the show's original six superheroes have established the Union. The early days of that organization were explored in the Jupiter's Circle series, and there's a good chance some elements of that are going to make their way into Season 2 of the Netflix show. This means viewers are likely to get a glimpse at the Union in action during their prime, as well as the various behind-the-scenes events that facilitated their breaking up and Skyfox turning into a villain.

Season 2 Will Search For Skyfox

Jupiter's Legacy - Skyfox

Over the course of Jupiter's Legacy Season 1, Hutch -- George's son -- spends much of the season moving the pieces required to find his father. Following a heist in which Chloe Sampson saves him from certain doom, Hutch brings her to his workshop and reveals that the power cell they took during their robbery will help them find George. Still, just what Hutch has planned for his father isn't made clear.

Still, while George is supposed to be one of the biggest supervillains in the Jupiter's Legacy Universe, he might just be a valuable asset in the fight against the show's true villain: Brainwave.

Brainwave Will Enact His Masterplan

Jupiter's Legacy - Brainwave

The big twist of Jupiter's Legacy Season 1 is that Brainwave is actually responsible for the cloned Blackstar and has been working to undermine Utopian this whole time. His plan is, essentially, to change the world in major ways through his super powers, and as the murder of his daughter, Raikou, proves, he's willing to do anything it takes to accomplish his goal.

Brainwave is going to be gunning for Utopian in Jupiter's Legacy Season 2, and that's going to mean recruiting some heavy hitters to his side. Currently, Brandon Sampson/Paragon is on the outs with his father after Utopian hesitated to kill Blackstar so as to save him, and recruiting the young man is part of Brainwave's plan. As such, Season 2 is likely to deal with Brainwave working to bring Brandon to his side and the repercussions of his success -- or failure.

However, Brandon is far from the only person that Brainwave could bring to his cause. Many younger heroes are frustrated with the Union's policy against killing, which could lead them into full-on revolt against the Utopian and his rules. If this happens, Brainwave is sure to benefit. That being said, not everyone will necessarily side with Brainwave, and that could lead to a sort of superpowered civil war in Jupiter's Legacy Season 2.

Netflix's Jupiter's Legacy stars Josh Duhamel as The Utopian, Ben Daniels as Brainwave, Leslie Bibb as Lady Liberty, Elena Kampouris as Chloe Sampson, Andrew Horton as Brandon Sampson, Mike Wade as The Flare, Anna Akana as Raikou and Matt Lanter as Skyfox. Season 1 is available on Netflix now.
