The long-running Justice League Snyder Cut saga has a fresh new development thanks to Dutch composer Junkie XL.
In an interview with Screen Rant, the electronic musician who scored Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice alongside Hans Zimmer, confirmed rumors that he had, in fact, completed his score for 2017's Justice League before director Zack Snyder left the project.
"The full score is still there," he said. "It's a really great score and it's just there. It never goes away. We'll see what happens in the future, you know?"
When asked if his score would ever be released to the public, XL responded, "I have no comment on that. But I'm saying, it's there. The full tracks."
The Snyder Cut of Justice League has become the stuff of legend for film enthusiasts since whispers of its existence began back 2017. Snyder famously left the project very late in production after the death of his daughter and was replaced by The Avengers director Joss Whedon. The resulting film was generally not well received by audiences or critics, with most criticism leveled towards its uneven tone and disjointed vision.
Speculation about a Zack Snyder edit of the film began almost immediately after but has never been officially confirmed, with all updates appearing only through interviews and hearsay. As such, fans have since taken it upon themselves to find answers, going so far as to buy billboard advertisements during this year's Comic-Con International in San Diego. The most recent update in the story was an official promotional video for the #ReleaseTheSnyderCut campaign, complete with a recap of the situation and a celebration of Snyder's filmography.

Warner Bros. has never commented on the existence or potential release of the Justice League Snyder Cut. However, Birds of Prey (And the Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn), the next film in the DC Extended Universe, is set to be released on Feb. 7, 2020.
