Lethal Weapon's Danny Glover has joined the cast of Sony's 2019 sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.

According to Deadline, Glover will join the cast of the upcoming sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle in a currently unknown role. Glover is the third new cast member to board the sequel following announcements earlier this month that Ocean's 8 star Awkwafina and Danny Devito had both signed on for the film.

Glover is best known for his portrayal of homicide detective Roger Murtaugh in the Lethal Weapon franchise, but has recently appeared in critically-acclaimed films The Old Man & the Gun and Sorry To Bother You.

Sony has kept details about the upcoming Jumanji sequel tightly under wraps, with no plot or character details having been released to date. The script was penned by director Jake Kasdan alongside returning screenwriters Scott Rosenberg and Jeff Pinkner,

Directed by Jake Kasdan, the upcoming sequel to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle sees the return of stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black and Karen Gillan to the cast alongside newcomers Danny DeVito, Awkwafina and Danny Glover. The film is slated to open in theaters on December 13.
