The first trailer for Jumanji: The Next Level completely redefines the team from Welcome to the Jungle.

As Bethany, Anthony and Martha search for Spencer, who has gone missing following the events of Welcome to the Jungle, they re-enter the titular game. However, this time who plays what character has changed, and they're joined by two guests: Eddie (Spencer's grandfather) and Milo (Spencer's grandfather's friend). In the game, Eddie's avatar is Smolder Bravestone, while Milo is Franklin "Mouth" Finbar. The rest of the trailer teases the various shenanigans the team will get into over the course of the movie and some of the new settings.

The upcoming film is the third instalment in the Jumanji franchise, which began with the 1995 fantasy adventure film starring Robin Williams, Kirsten Dunst, Bonnie Hunt and Bradley Pierce. Jumanji introduced the magical board game that unleashed villainous hunters, vicious animals and warped entire environments as it was played. The sequel turned the board game into a video game and introduced entirely new characters to the franchise. After Welcome to the Jungle earned $962 million worldwide in 2017, a sequel was quickly greenlit and put into production.
