Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle brought the classic fantasy adventure movie back to the big screen with a new adventure 22 years after the first film. The changes were significant, taking the characters into the game's world instead of bringing videogame characters to the real world. Not to mention characters only had three lives, and if they died three times, they died in real life. In 2019, the sequel, Jumanji: The Next Level, arrived and added more twists. The characters ended up in different bodies and two more characters join the adventure: Spencer's Grandpa Eddie (Danny DeVito) and Eddie's old friend Milo (Danny Glover). Still, the danger remained the same -- three deaths end a person's life. By the film's conclusion, everyone was just one death away from game over.

Fridge (Sheldon) Via A Giant Python - 1st Death

Jumanji 2: Fridge eaten by a python.

The Next Level's first death happened right after a callback to the first movie. Neither Milo nor Eddie had any idea where they were or what the danger was. Mouse (Milo) went to the water's edge and looked at a hippo in the water, watching them. This was the same hippo that killed Bethany (Sheldon) in Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle. Ruby Roundhouse (Martha) saved him at the last minute, and then the new Sheldon (Fridge) decided to lay down the ground rules for the newcomers regarding the dangers in the world. However, just as he told them to always have eyes in the back of their heads, a giant python came down from a tree and clamped onto his head, killing him.

Eddie (Dr. Bravestone) Via An Ostrich - 1st Death

The ostrich that kills Dr. Bravestone in Jumanji 2.

The second death played on the joke that Milo talks too slow when explaining things. Eddie often told him it would result in his death one day. In this case, that is literally what happened. The players were in the desert by a pit of cars when an ostrich ran up to them. Sheldon (Milo) began explaining everything he knows about ostriches. Despite Ruby Roundhouse and Sheldon begging him to talk faster, he didn't. Bravestone walked up and tried to shoo the ostrich away. By the time Mouse said that ostriches attack when threatened, it was too late as the giant bird crushed Dr. Bravestone's head.

Spencer (Ming) Via Jurgen The Brutal's Axe - 1st Death

Jumanji 2 sees Spencer as Ming.

The players made their way to the Oasis and the Smoke Stack, where they ended up finding the villain they later have to defeat and the missing friend they came to rescue. They never expected that Spencer would return in a brand-new avatar. Although it made him weaker than he ever imagined. This was Ming Fleetfoot, a thief. He was trying to steal a key needed to move him further in the game, but his grandfather (Dr. Bravestone) stopped him, not knowing it was Spencer. Jurgen threw his axe and killed Ming.

Explosion Kills Eddie (Dr. Bravestone) - 2nd Death, Fridge (Sheldon) - 2nd Death, Martha (Ruby Roundhouse) - 1st Death, Spencer (Ming) - 2nd Death, And Milo (Mouse) - 1st Death

An explosion kills everyone in Jumanji: The Next Level.

The next deaths happened all at once. After the players escaped the Oasis, everyone thought they were safe and were ready to continue their journey to win the game and make it back home. They had the desert fruit they needed and escaped with their lives from the mob led by Switchblade, the man who wanted revenge for Dr. Bravestone romancing his wife. The problem was that, for the third time in a row, Grandpa Eddie messed up. Dr. Bravestone stood there and said it wasn't time to run, it was time to fight. However, "Switchblade" was Bravestone's only weakness, and he got everyone blown up by a rocket-shooting bazooka. This was Martha and Milo's first deaths and the second for Eddie, Fridge, and Spencer.

Milo (Mouse) Via Falling Boulder - 2nd Death

Jumanji_ The Next Level

Grandpa Eddie was responsible for the next death as well. He was the wildcard in the group, making him a danger to everyone. In this case, Eddie and Milo were arguing about their past, where Milo chose to retire, and Eddie believed he turned his back on him by forcing him to retire too. Eddie started to get personal, and Milo said he was tired of it and was ready to solve things once and for all. Milo took the first punch, which did no damage because Eddie was Dr. Bravestone. After this, Bravestone hit Mouse, knocking him into the distance, where he hit a boulder and had another boulder fall on top of him, prompting Fridge to finally tell Grandpa Eddie that he needed to stop killing people.

Martha (Ruby Roundhouse) - 2nd Death

Jumanji_ The Next Level - mandrills

The next death in Jumanji: The Next Level came when the heroes had to get across a labyrinth of hanging bridges. However, there were two major problems. One, the bridges rotated and changed positions constantly, forcing them to jump from bridge-to-bridge at the right time. The second, and more deadly obstacle, was a pack of mandrels that attacked as they made their jumps. The group did well until Martha jumped to the wrong bridge. A mandrel grabbed her and threw her from the bridge to her death. That gave Ruby Roundhouse her second death, with only one life remaining. Now, every main character had two deaths, and losing one more could kill them.

Alex (Jefferson) Via Boobytraps - 1st And 2nd Death

Jumanji_ The Next Level - Nick Jonas

With only one death each, it seemed the risk of death was high. However, Bethany and Alex returned, with Bethany now a horse named Cyclops. Now, there were new chances for deaths that would not kill the real people playing as the avatars. They all ended up jumping into the magical waters, switching back into their proper bodies. Milo was now the horse, and Grandpa Eddie the thief, Ming. While Bethany never died at all in this game, Alex was not so lucky. His job was to save Milo, who was now Cyclops, the horse. However, the stable was full of boobytraps, and he died twice in minutes, realizing he now had only one life left to save the horse and escape.
