Jumanji: The Next Level finds a lot of fun in swapping the avatars of the core characters, allowing the members of the cast to portray the different teenage roles. But while that means the young actors don't get much opportunity to share the screen with their avatars, the final moments of the film set up how a potential sequel that could make those interactions possible.

During an interview with CBR ahead of the film's March 17 release on Blu-ray and DVD, Jumanji: The Next Level stars Morgan Turner and Madison Iseman revealed what they hope the film's ending sets up for potential sequels.

In Jumanji: The Next Level, teenage friends Martha (Turner), Bethany (Iseman) and Fridge (Ser'Darius Blain) are forced to return to the massive video game world in an attempt to find their other friend, Spencer (Alex Wolff), who re-entered the game of his own volition. While there, however, they're shunted around into different avatars. As a result, Turner and Iseman got to see multiple other members of the cast playing their characters within the game, often in quick succession.

It made for some interesting interactions among the cast. "I have a story because Jack Black has to play my character for a brief part of one of the scenes," Turner recalled, "and he emailed me while I was waiting to get my car serviced. I had to send him a video of me reading the lines, in the inside of a car dealership."

"[Black's] gotten to play almost everyone," Iseman pointed out. "The only one he hasn't played is Spencer."

While Turner and most of the other younger cast members are quickly drawn into the game, Iseman's Bethany is actually kept outside for a stretch of time. It takes her half the film to find Alex, a fellow former player, who can help her breach into the game. Once there, she actually ends up in a very unexpected role: Cyclone, the secret Pegasus that Alex rides to catch up with the others.

"I was really confused at first," Iseman admitted. "I remember reading the script and being like, 'What is happening?'" After adjusting to the twist, she said, "I died laughing. I couldn't wait to see it. I couldn't see the horse, but with the other people playing us, we were able to see their performances...  It was exciting. I've never played a horse in my life."

The film ends with the mysterious powers of Jumanji apparently opening up and unleashing the dangerous magic and animals into the real world. The final moments are of Martha and Bethany, alongside Spencer and Fridge, watching as a pack of ostriches running down their town's main street. While their characters are horrified by this revelation, Turner and Iseman are excited by the prospect of what this could mean for the franchise. Turner described the prospect of Jumani making it's way into the real world for a future film would be "awesome."

Asked about the possibility of getting to work with the actors who play the game avatars (which neither actress got much of a chance to interact within the previous two Jumanji films), Iseman said that, "I think we'd both would very like that to happen." "To get to actually work with everybody," Turner added, "not just working together and doing things separately, but really working together as a team would be really fun."

Speaking about the ending of the film and how it teases a potential sequel, Iseman related how "I remember filming the ending, and on the first movie, they changed the ending in post so it wasn't the ending we remembered. So I remember filming that scene where the ostriches run down the street and was like "please let this still be in the movie." Morgan agreed, saying, "We did a lot of different takes with different things, it all depends on what the audiences thinks. I'm also very glad they kept the ostriches."

Director Jake Kasdan's Jumanji: The Next Level stars Dwayne Johnson, Kevin Hart, Jack Black, Karen Gillan, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover, Nick Jonas, Awkwafina, Rory McCann, Alex Wolff, Ser’Darius Blain, Madison Iseman and Morgan Turner. The film is now available on digital HD, Blu-ray and DVD.
