Jumanji, the wild safari board game adventure, has once again received the video game adaptation treatment.

Donning a humorous cartoony aesthetic based on the current Jumanji films starring Dwayne Johnson and Kevin Hart, Jumanji: The Video Game is a four-person cooperative experience for long-time fans and newcomers alike.

As one of four explorers – Dwayne Johnson's Dr. Smolder Bravestone, Jack Black's Professor Sheldon Oberon, Kevin Hart's Franklin "Mouse" Finbar or Karen Gillan's Ruby Roundhouse – players navigate multiple terrains (from snowy landscapes to indigenous hamlets) battling hordes of enemies. Each character has special skills, making them integral to combat and exploration, but these specific abilities have not been revealed as of yet.

As a third-person action-adventure title, Jumanji: The Video Game employs fast flurries of melee combat, as well as over-the-shoulder shooting mechanics. There are also mini-games and puzzles to complete, like safely navigating lethal booby traps. Moreover, the game offers online play, as well as couch co-op, and solo players can do battle with adversaries alongside AI companions.

Jumanji: The Video Game is developed by Funsolve and published by Outright Games. It is out now for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC and Nintendo Switch.
