Jujutsu Kaisen has quickly become a favorite among anime fans, and it's not hard to see why. With likable characters, great action, a good sense of humor, and an intriguingly dark world, there's a lot for viewers to like about it. Though if they had the chance to live in the Jujutsu Kaisen universe, some might reconsider.

While there are many different anime worlds that are entertaining to watch from afar, not all of them would be great places to live. Jujutsu would definitely be among those due to the harsh and often horrifying realities that living in this anime world would entail.

10 Curses Are Very Real & Very Angry

Kenjaku and Jougo

There is an aura of mystery surrounding the subject of the supernatural, things that draw people in to learn about unknown forces like ghosts and monsters. In Jujutsu Kaisen this isn't a mystery at all, because the existence of Cursed Spirits (or just "curses") are very real and they are not happy.

While some curses are more benign than others, there are a lot of them that are ready to rip people limb from limb if they get close enough. Essentially every waking second in the Jujutsu world could be a ghost story come to life.

Curses aren't visible to normal humans, and that may be a good thing because the world of Jujutsu Kaisen is filled while grotesque imagery that could drive any sane person that witnessed it mad. With the varying types of Cursed Energy, there are too many ways that one can die in this world.

Depending on the curse, death could come quickly, or it could be slow and painful. That's not even counting the sudden body horror mutation that Mahito can do which is not only horrifying but basically torture for the victim. If someone more unprepared saw all this, they might never sleep again.

8 You Can Become A Jujutsu Sorcerer, But The Three Families Get Favoritism

Fortunately, there are Jujutsu Sorcerers out there fighting Cursed Spirits, and the even better news is that essentially anyone who can see curses can become one. One who trains their body, mind, and of course Cursed Energy could become an impressive Jujutsu Sorcerer, but those descended from the three sorcerer families get special preference.

While being a part of one of these families isn't exactly all it's cracked up to be, there's no doubt that their members get a bit more in the way of not only favoritism but innate talent with Cursed Energy. If you're not in one of those families, the road to becoming a good sorcerer becomes that much harder.

7 If You're Female, Life In The Jujutsu World Is Now Ten Times Harder

Between various biases and expectations, there's a lot that's unfairly thrust upon girls and women alike, and sadly this does not get better in the Jujutsu Kaisen world. Because the Jujutsu world is mainly run by men who revere old traditions above everything else, female Jujutsu Sorcerers start off with a disadvantage.

To Momo Nishimiya's testimony, female sorcerers are expected to be perfect, and as such their best might never be seen as good enough. It's pretty clear that the "higher ups" of the Jujutsu world have an old view of the world and women, but it's unlikely that they'll rethink those views themselves.

6 Life Can Still Be Hell Even With Cursed Power

In order to survive as a Jujutsu Sorcerer, one has to become strong and train up. This includes Cursed Energy and Cursed Technique, and once properly refined, a Jujutsu Sorcerer can be a force to be reckoned with. However, this doesn't always mean that life will become any easier.

Depending on the kind of cursed ability a sorcerer has, they might have to spend every second keeping it in check to not harm friends or loved ones, like how Inumaki has to speak the names of rice ball ingredients to control his Cursed Speech. Just another stressful thing to weigh on the mind of a Jujutsu Sorcerer at all times.

5 Some Curses Have Humanity, But Still Need To Be Killed

There are a lot of Cursed Spirits that are dangerous by default, and while it would be easy to call them all savage monsters, that's not exactly the case. Some Cursed Spirits are intelligent enough to be on the level of humans and even have some level of emotion within them, but they still end up being a threat to be killed by Jujutsu Sorcerers.

There are also the ones who were human first but were mutated who have to be taken care of as well. In this case, it's to put an end to their suffering. The morality of it isn't exactly black and white, but Jujutsu Sorcerers have to harden their spirits and not think about it.

4 The Jujutsu World Is Run Mainly By Horrible People

While the Jujutsu world may be protected by Jujutsu Sorcerers, that doesn't mean the people who run it are altruistic. The three sorcerer families, the Zenin family, the Gojo family, and the Kamo family, are the ones mainly in charge, but they're not exactly unified. In fact, there's a lot of animosity between them all.

Despite their goals supposedly being to protect humanity from Cursed Spirits, the three families are fighting more for their own self-interests and lust for dominance in Jujutsu society. They don't even really care about their family members as individuals, willing to treat them like garbage or disown them if they fail to meet expectations.

3 Humans Are To Blame For Curses

Jujutsu-Kaisen-Mahito-Attack

Curses may be known to have a grudge against humans, but strangely, despite their knack for attacking them, they do share a special relationship with humans. Negative emotions leak out a little bit of Cursed Energy from person to person, building until a spirit is born from them. Meaning anytime someone feels anger or sadness, they're contributing to creating a Cursed Spirit that might come after them one day.

With how brutal Cursed Spirits can be, it can be easy to see humankind as just victims, but since the negative emotions of humans are what create curses, humans are to blame for the existence of curses in the first place.

2 Even Jujutsu Sorcerers Can Be Killed At Any Moment

Jujutsu Sorcerers train specifically to fight and eradicate curses; some train for their entire lives for the task. That being said, just because someone's a Jujutsu Sorcerer doesn't make them less likely to die - if anything the chance of dying horribly goes up.

Jujutsu Sorcerers may train their skills to defend against any curse, but even that might not prepare them for what certain Special Grade curses are capable of. As such, Jujutsu Sorcerers of all kinds can pretty much die at any moment if they let their guard down for even a second.

1 If You're A Normal Person, You're Essentially Never Safe

Jujutsu Kaisen _ Anime

People who become Jujutsu Sorcerers, people who specialize in fighting curses, may become strong, but that doesn't mean they're safe from anything. For everyday people, it's a lot worse and most of them don't even know it themselves. Since normal people can't see Cursed Spirits, curses can get incredibly close without any of them realizing it, and if the curse is strong enough, they can kill without warning.

These people are essentially never safe, with their lives being threatened by unknown forces they could never see or understand, and they have no way to defend themselves. If you're a normal person in the Jujutsu world, you're in danger at all times.
