While hard work is certainly important in becoming a good jujutsu sorcerer, as Maki Zenin proves to fans, sometimes nothing can beat natural talent. From characters who are simply born with incredible amounts of Cursed Energy to characters who house Cursed Spirits who cannot be beaten, these characters blow away the competition with nothing but their inherent power.

This does not mean these characters do not have to train. It is just a matter of who was born with what ability. Unfortunately, sometimes talent outweighs hard work when it comes to Cursed Energy.

10 Itadori Had The Physical Prowess To Keep Up Even Without Sukuna

Yuji after eating Sukuna's finger

Even without Sukuna's power, Yuji Itadori had an impressive set of physical skills that allowed him to become a jujutsu sorcerer. If he never gained any cursed energy, he still had the athletic ability and willpower to follow in a character like Maki Zenin's footsteps, if he chose to.

Combine this with his Cursed Energy and his latent abilities that Sukuna afforded him on occasion, and Yuji Itadori might as well have been a jujutsu sorcerer prodigy. He was able to keep up with his classmates even when he had only just learned about Cursed Energy, which was saying a lot considering Megumi Fushiguro's power.

9 Sukuna Struck Mahito Down When Nanami Struggled

Sometimes, being Sukuna is just awesome. Sukuna can cut down pretty much any sorcerer or cursed spirit with a glance. The powerful Cursed Spirit, Mahito, figures this out the hard way and nearly escapes with his life. If Sukuna had been serious about killing Mahito, the soul-warping Cursed Spirit would not be alive.

Sukuna is constantly underestimated by the other Cursed Spirits, like Mahito and Jogo. Of course, they know Sukuna is the most powerful Cursed Spirit, but they keep expecting to be close to Sukuna's level and are proven painfully wrong.

8 Gojo Obliterated Jogo

Gojo vs Jogo

Similar to Sukuna but on the opposite side of the coin, Gojo Satoru is a jujutsu sorcerer that Cursed Spirits and other sorcerers alike do not want to antagonize. Gojo has proven himself untouchable time and time again. He is such a threat that the Cursed Spirits had to create a special barrier to lock Gojo out when they attacked during the Kyoto Good Will Event.

Unfortunately for them, nothing and no one was going to keep Gojo out for long. At the last minute, Gojo entered the fray, defeating not only Juzo but also Hanami, who barely escaped.

7 Gojo Also Obliterated Juzo During The Good Will Tournament

Juzo is admring his handiwork in a jujutsu kaisen bonus skit

Speaking of the Juzo versus Gojo fight, Gojo made quick work against this sadistic character after intervening in Juzo's fight with the Kyoto Sorcerer Academy's headmaster, Yoshinobu Gakuganji. Gakuganji had revealed his electric guitar-related sorcery technique, but it was not enough to stop Juzo immediately.

However, when Gojo stepped in to help Gakuganji (who Gojo disrespected and hated), Juzo, who had talked a big game up until that point, was done for in a matter of moments. No matter how powerful Juzo and Gakuganji thought they were, and no matter how many years of experience, practice, and hard work they had under their belt, Gojo blew them away in seconds.

6 Hanami Did Not Stand A Chance Against Gojo

Hanami was another unfortunate victim of Gojo's seemingly ultimate power. While Ai Todo and Itadori fought hard against the Special Grade Cursed Spirit for a long time, once Gojo appeared, the battle was over. Todo and Itadori even had to shield themselves from the force of Gojo's blast.

Todo was a very powerful sorcerer who was feared by many of his classmates. Yuji had both his powerful talents and the possibility of a Sukuna assist. However, neither of their efforts mattered for Gojo, who could have destroyed Hanami in one move even at Hanami's most powerful.

5 Nanami Showed That If Talent Can Succeed, Moderate Effort Is All That Is Required

Kento Nanami's work-life balance is phenomenal, and the boundaries he sets for his work are legendary. However, Nanami still gets the job done every time. This is because Nanami is both talented as a jujutsu sorcerer and understands the amount of work he must do to succeed in his tasks.

Nanami will not put forth more effort than he needs, but he wins in almost all of his fights. Nanami teaches fans that hard work means nothing when there is no intrinsic value, especially with a job like jujutsu sorcery, which is really dangerous. Unfortunately, his talent was overshadowed by Mahito's.

4 Sukuna Destored The Finger Bearer In One Hit

Yuji Itadori and Megumi Fushiguro getting spooked by the Finger Bearer in Jujutsu Kaisen.

The ultra-creepy Finger Bearer gave Yuji, Megumi, and Kugisaki Nobara a run for their money in the Cursed Womb arc, and it even killed both Megumi's summoned spirits and took off some of Yuji's extremities. The innate power of the Cursed Spirit was almost too much for Yuji.

However, for Sukuna, the Cursed Spirit was little more than a fly. After switching consciousnesses with Yuji, Sukuna quickly puts the Finger Bearer in its place and heals Yuji's hand (though he later rips the heart out of the body he and Yuji share).

3 Itadori Was Able To Keep Up With Todo Despite Being New To Jujutsu Sorcery

While the other jujutsu sorcerers in training have either been at the academy for a while or at least known they had cursed energy for a while, Yuji Itadori had only just learned of the world of jujutsu sorcery when he joined the school. So, when fans think about it, Yuji's ability to keep up with fearsome characters like Todo is pretty impressive.

Yuji still has a long way to go, but he has a head start on most people. He was even able to do what Nobara could not when he blasted through a wall and topped a Cursed Spirit that held a child hostage.

2 Megumi Became The Zenin Clan Head Despite His Youth

Megumi Fushiguro was able to become the Zenin clan head, despite only being a kid. Of course, it was not as easy as that statement sounds. The dying Naobito Zenin wished for Megumi to become the heir. The Zenin clan always looked to Megumi's Cursed Technique with awe and respect.

Using the Ten Shadows technique, Megumi can summon shikigami, one of which is the extremely powerful Mahogara. It has been said that no user of the technique has been able to exercise Mahogara. So, being able to summon that shikigami proves Megumi's innate talent.

1 Mahito Was A Young Cursed Spirit But Defeated Nanami

Mahito from Jujutsu Kaisen

It is explained on a few occasions that Mahito, the soul-manipulating Curse Spirit with the ability to warp human bodies into monstrous aberrations, was relatively young for Cursed Spirits and had only recently come into existence. Yet, Mahito was still a formidable Cursed Spirit who proved to be a thorn in the side of all the Tokyo jujutsu sorcerers.

Not only was Mahito able to keep up with Nanami and win, but Mahito was also able to survive being hit by Sukuna after Mahito accidentally touched Sukuna's domain when trying to mold souls.
