It's the clash of two of MAPPA's biggest productions in this fan animated video of Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man.Chainsaw Man unveiled the opening theme "KICK BACK" in October with the release of its first season, but before that, many fans got to work imaging what the opening could be. One fan decided to create a Chainsaw Man version of Jujutsu Kaisen's second opening theme song "Vivid Vice" sung by Who-ya Extended. While MADYOU's (@mad_you_mad) version incorporates cuts, resulting in a less smoothly-animated video, it still perfectly captures the somber mood that the Jujutsu Kaisen opening video evokes.RELATED: Chainsaw Man Isn't Misogynistic – Its Female Characters Are Surprisingly Empowered

The animator replaced Jujutsu Kaisen's characters with those from Chainsaw Man, such as swapping Yuji for Denji and Gojo for Makima. While most of the scenes have just the characters changed, the animator also changed some scenes to fit Chainsaw Man's story better, such as integrating one scene of Denji standing in front of a door and getting ready to open it. MADYOU has done several similar mashups before, using the first opening theme song from Jujutsu Kaisen and even the tenth ending song "My Answer" from Naruto: Shippuden.

The Hits Keep Coming From MAPPA

Founded in June 2011 by Masao Maruyana, the former producer of Madhouse, MAPPA produced its first anime series Kids on the Slope, based on Yuki Kodama's manga, in 2012. Its first original work came in 2014 with Terror in Resonance directed by Cowboy Bebop's Shinichirō Watanabe. It wasn't until Yuri!!! on Ice came out that the studio began garnering more widespread attention. It's now continuing to produce anime adaptations from hugely popular works such as the fourth season of Attack on Titan, The God of High School, the second season of Vinland Saga and Hell's Paradise: Jigokuraku.

Based on Gege Akutami's work, Jujutsu Kaisen follows high school student Yuji Itadori who lands himself a death sentence after swallowing the rotten finger of a powerful Curse named Sukuna. Knowing how dangerous Sukuna is, the sorcerers choose to postpone Yuji's death sentence until he finds all of the Curse's fingers, allowing the sorcerers to finally eliminate Sukuna for good.

Tatsuki Fujimoto's Chainsaw Man follows a destitute young man named Denji who has the ability to change into a chainsaw demon with one pull of the string in his chest. Denji joins Tokyo Special Division 4 of the Public Safety Devil Hunters, meeting Blood Fiend Power and Aki Hayakawa, with the goal of destroying the powerful Gun Devil in exchange for Makima granting any one of Denji's wishes.

Jujutsu Kaisen and Chainsaw Man are both available on Crunchyroll.
